Yes, Yes they do. That's exactly what they get paid to do and that's what they SHOULD get paid for. When you listen to a good announcer, you shouldn't even really hear them at all. They are supposed to dictate the play to you, not come up with fantastic phrases like "geometric pass" or make clever little jokes about how bald Pierre Mcguire is or sarcastic remarks about what a great hockey player Eddie Olczyk was. Those things do nothing but distract you from the matter at hand, which is a hockey game. I don't turn on hockey to hear two guys talk about that crap, I watch it to watch HOCKEY that's what they should be discussing that's what they are paid for.
