I saw that too and was pretty shocked but there are never articles on when cities are having good ratings, and there are places out there that have good ratings. Buffalo had a 7.1 rating on versus for the all star game and even higher if you include CBC which made it the most watched cable show that day. But yea seeing ratings decrease does hurt, I find hockey the best sport to watch.

If Buffalo can't sign both Briere and Drury which is very likely since both will want a raise, I see philly picking one of them up. Philly has already said they are interested in both of them. Briere will probably want around 7 million and Drury will want around 5 million.

I moved to Buffalo, originaly from Ontario..hockey is really big here and Buffalo has both Versus and CBC. We had a 7.1 rating for Versus which is higher than any other cable show on during that time which is very good imo. I don't know what the ratings were for CBC but I know me and my friends watched it on CBC. The news channels here did very well on getting out that the ASG was on Versus and so did MSG which is our local station for the sabres. I'm not sure if other cities did this...everyone in Buffalo knows what Versus is and what channel it is on because the news does a good job at stating it.
