Blash has switched the lines up all the time this year. How people forget it was just last week he switched them up midgame against FLA and it resulted in a comeback win. Last night his combos got them a 4-0 lead. Why panic? Let your players play through it. Throughout the season he has been criticized on this board for not changing things up enough and then changing things up to much that players cant get good cohesion. You cant have both. If by earn you mean be the worst team in the league then yes I guess so. Babs will never see the end of that contract. He will be fired come year 4 and it will take more than t hat for the Leafs to be respectable.

I agree it would be nice but from the looks of Mr I the last time I saw him speak in public I dont think hes aware of where he is much anymore let alone what the Wings are doing.

Why would they? He prints money with the Tigers. 80+ home games that average well over 30k attendance as well as more lucrative TV deals.

If those are the centers you want to see on this team then its in real trouble. Larkin looks to be a sure fire top guy but thats it. Helm is on the decline, Glendening is a 4th line guy at best. Sheahan hasnt shown he can produce points in the NHL, AA will probably top out as a strong third line guy that could fill in on the 2nd line but you wouldn't want him there all the time. There is nobody to be legitimate #2 C. Across the whole ice Pav is by far the teams best player. Hes well worth 5 mill a year for what he does.

I dont think there is any way they move Green one year into his contract unless they already have Yandle signed. They will end up having to eat a bunch of Howards salary and if they do find a trade partner for Green they will likely have to eat some of his after his play this year.

20 million free doesnt mean anything when they cant give him anymore than a max contract. Holland doesnt need to clear 20 mill to compete. He just needs to clear to max.

I think thats about half of what they need. They need an elite scorer and another consistant 2nd tier guy. A top dman would be great to the problem is for a team that wants to control the puck the other four dman are pretty bad. They cannot handle any semblance of a fore-check. The only time Detroit manages to get consistant pressure on teams this year seems to be when they are either ahead so much they sit back and let Detroit attack giving the dman all the time they want or they arent tough fore-checking teams. Adding a guy or two that can make a good pass under pressure is a major need. If Holland makes a play at Stamkos no they can sign Yandle to.

If this team had any semblance of offense they would be comfortably in the playoffs. How bad is it? Shayne Gostisbehere a rookie dman from is only 4 goals and 4 pts off our team leaders while playing almost 20 games less than our top guys. This team has no goto scoring line. At this point Dats and Hank pretty much qualify as secondary scorers in this league and they are by far the best we got.

Because those extra 5-6 games would make such a difference in the young guys games? Those games sure havnt helped Nyquist, Tatar, Sheahan, and Glendening. Better to miss. I agree that's there is a mentality issue with the Wings. They still believe everything will be ok if they are just overly professional and methodic. This game, or the Columbus game, or the countless other games this year they have dropped points to lesser teams. They really need to stop playing down to their opponents.

In a game you cant afford to lose they get shutout by the Marlies. It wasnt even that close of a game for one that finished 1-0. Toronto was by far the better team until they decided to play nothing but defense the entire third. Even the the Wings never really looked like they were going to score. The teams play the last two weeks make you think they want the extra time off this summer.
