at least we'll have some cap to sign Cleary and/or Hank. I think it's kinda interesting how our team was effected after Cleary was hurt. Just seems like to me we started playing very mediocre after Cleary went down. I really hope we can get some sort of deal done with him at a reasonable price around 2.5 or 3 at the most per year.

I just want to say probably any goalie would allow 3+ goals with the D we have right now. The D left Ozzie high and dry on several occasions and Ozzie made several great saves. If Lilypad doesn't get the penalty hat trick in the 3rd, Ozzie probably ends up with the win. Plus, I think letting 1/4 shots in a shootout is going to give a great shot to win. I don't want to ignite a goalie war, but please give Ozzie some credit

I dislike the Oilers as much as the next person, but I think they're better than you're giving credit. They had won 4 in a row at home and coming off a win against the Avs where they started 0-2 in the first. It's not much to tip your hat off too, but they can play well at times.

Ericsson did play shakey at times, but showed some good things. If he's paired with someone a little more reliable, he should play a bit better. He's been thrown to the lion's den in his third game (I think) with no real good help defensively. I'd like to see what he could do where there isn't as much pressure to perform and we have Lids, Cheli, Rafs and Kronner back. Hell, even Stewie. Who knows though, I could be totally wrong. edit - forgot Rafalski

Agreed. I am pulling for the Avs to be the 8th spot (if we're still 1) because it could easily spark the rivalry. The last game where we beat them 4-0 had Lids getting hurt, Babs yelling Granato, and just a lot more excitement physically. We play them in the play them in the playoffs and who knows?. I think it will be good for hockey too if it happens. IDK though, being from Colorado, Wings games are always intense to me.

I like Lebda cause he's from Notre Dame, but if Meech plays this well (I think he's played great the last few games) and Lily and Lebda continue to play this bad.... Let's get Meech the spot. Lilja is playing MUCH better than Lebda is all I hear. Not so sure about that. Lebda has a heads up play for the 3rd goal and Lilypad is a penalty machine.

I know what you mean and you could say the same thing about the Stars to an extent. I agree that when the Wings have such great success in the regular season and they're ousted in the playoffs, I think we all feel let down. At the same time I think it's amazing that the Wings have been this good for this long, especially with the new salary cap era. I just don't think it's realistic to expect a team to go/win a cup like every other year consistently and for other fans to laugh at us is kinda stupid and hypocritical.

I'd like to see that too. See who plays the best. Maybe a little bit of urgency in a sense would motivate one of them.
