I know what you mean, but Idk.... Having the best record in the NHL is what every team aims for before the playoffs begin. Winning the Presidents Trophy is an honor. but it doesn't guarantee a cup. How do you figure? The Wings are higher in the standings than both teams.... I know it doesn't mean we're necessarily better, but..... How can you justify "definitely"
-
Which move helps the Wings more in your opinion? Someone with an expiring contract like a rental or trying to get someone who may want to stick around a bit?
-
Calm down, I didn't want to argue. But I would like to know the last time we didn't make the playoffs and was Kenny part of that team.
-
I don't see where all the gripes are with him. Pretty sure like the last 10/15 years, we have the best winning percentage of any NHL team. Honestly, when was the last time we were not in the playoff hunt. And was Kenny our guy then?
-
I know what you mean. It definitely has been a tough for him in Calgary, mix of being hurt, not seeing a lot of time etc. Still would be nice to see 25 back in a Wing jersey, maybe not nice to see on the ice though.
-
Idk about that, I think at least %90 of everybody here loves Kenny. In my opinion and most, he's the best GM in the league. I can't even recall the last time we missed the playoffs
-
Here's what we do. Three way trade bringing us Mac and Lapointe, in return CHI and CAL get a oh idk.... a happy meal each j/k I'm not too crazy about Kronwall, he's young, but still... a rare 1st round for us and he could be crappin out
-
I know Kenny doesn't want to get a bad deal, but... A first round pick really shouldn't be too big of a deal. We'll end up from probably between 26-30th pick. Look at Krownwall, he's a number 1 and not much has come of him. Pavel a 6th and Zetterberg a 7th... Kenny has the talent to scout great players, so a first round isn't as important to us as maybe another GM
-
Couldn't agree with you more. I don't why all you Schneider haters wanna get rid of him for a guy that doesn't seem like he wants to step up his game. Krownwall WAS suppose to be a great offensive talent, but 1 goal in 50 games.... come on. Last time I checked, since Krownwall was back from his groun injury in mid december, he hasn't don't jack.

We have about as good as shot as anybody, dont you think? We're a handful of points away from the best record in the league and it's not like we haven't had a fair share of rotten luck with some injuries. If we're not, who is? The Preds? Buffalo? I think we have the talent to take them down.
-
Schneider has 9 goals and 28 assists this season with a plus/minus of 11 and is very useful on the PP with his slapshot. Marty has 11 goals and 6 assists and has played in 12 more games than Matt. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind Marty, but I don't see how you want to get rid of someone who is more productive offensively and is more skilled defensively. I guess I can see age, but Marty isn't a young buck either

He was amazing in the playoffs, I'm not denying that. I'm just saying I'm shocked he's having a better regular season in 07 than he has had for us in the past and that in the regular season in the past, he did seem shakey at times. Let us not forget in 2002 we had one heck of a team in general. Hull, Luc, Shanny, Feds etc...
-
This year he has a 2.05 gaa and he has 6 shutouts already. His two previous years with us in 01-02 and 03/04 he averaged 2.17 and 2.20 gaa and had 7 shutouts total. Obviously he is having a better year this year for the Wings statistically than he has in the past. I will admit in the playoffs he was outstanding 2002. I just don't see why you think that was so farfetched
-
The Wings will add a guy like Guerin and all that will most likely change our 2nd line
-
You sound like you blame Datsyuk for all our failures. There's more than one player who didn't play well in our years that we lost. If it was only Datsyuk who didn't play well, don't you think we would of just benched him and won a few more cups?
-
You said they're 24th on defense and 2nd on offense. It's hard to believe that a team who is so talented on one side and so bad on the other could be better than us. We have that defense you lack, we have a goaltender who averages letting in about 2.05 gpg and if you haven't noticed, our offense is running pretty smooth.
-
just let it die. They're 29th on the PK and 25th in defense as a whole. What does it take to convince you they're not good defensively
-
my cpu messed up, sorry to post this twice
-
i think partially we do get droughts iin the past years, but we haven't be ousted alone on that. We always seem to play a goalie that makes 40/50 saves. Potvin, Roloson and Giggy. I hate them all
-
Just goin on that a little. When we won the cup in 2002, Hasek to me, didn't seem to play overally great. He was impressive at times, but wasn't as good as he's playing this year. I'm just shocked that he's better now than maybe 4/5 years ago
-
You guys that doubt Blake will be dealt cannot deny that there has been much speculation about him...
-
And you gotta love the fact that statistically, these past two years he's been scoring and getting assists so much more than he has had in the past Idk man, but there are multiple sources saying that he's avaliable
-
-
see, so my comment isn't totally off the wall To be honest, maybe Blake is our cheapeast option. He's old at 34, but we wouldn't have to give up to get as much as the others. Plus this year he's having a good as year as he's ever had
