Not everyone reaches their peak performence at the same time. A player like Jason Blake who is 34 has had his best season 05-06 with 57 pts and now the current 06-07 is on pace to break it with 50 pts in 59 games. I understand there's not much of a correlation between the two, but it does prove that players hit their potential at different times. That being said, if Hudler does end up sucking, I'd rather trade him while people still think he is worth something.
-
Blake has 27 goals and 23 assists. not really a pushover year to this point
-
Sid the kid is something special, hate to say, but better than any player we got (maybe not #5) . They're 2nd in PP, but 29th in PK. Now if they can find a good balance of the two, watch out
-
Which Blake, your link just brings back to this site
-
Brewer is good, I remember him back with the Oilers. Although, they're much improved so no more top picks to give out... Don't get me wrong, they could be the best offensive team in the game, but they need to replace a line and half of defensemen and idk if you can accomplish that all before the deadline
-
They're 25th in GAA and on the PK they're 29th. I'm not sure if adding one player fixes all of that, at least out of the defensemen they have on the block
-
I agree completely. They are young and are quality. But I believe their time is in 2 or 3 years. I just don't think I'd put them above the Wings right now. We're 2nd in goals against and 9th in scoring. Scoring could be up a bit, but as we all know, defense can win games (look at Pronger in playoffs last year) and we have in my opinion the best defensemen in the game.
-
Well, there are only 5 teams worse than them at letting goals in. That correlates to their lack of defense/goaltending. Like today at one point, Fluery was 20/25. They score bunches, but if they're letting them in almost as much, I'm just not sold. Especially when the playoffs are a 7 game series sometimes and so much depends on the defense and goaltending
-
That seems a little farfetched to me. I was watching the Pens/Isle game today and Fluery gave up a goal with like 25 seconds left to lose in regulation. Also, according to NHL.com they're 25th in the league in goals against, but tied 4th in the league for wins. I just don't see a unbalanced team like that going very far in the playoffs.

Was anyone able to catch the Pit New York Isle game today? It was pretty great. Given there wasn't much goaltending untill the last 30 seconds, but the ending was amazing. Dipietro (uncertain on spelling) stopped an arsenal of shots resuliting into a breakway for the go ahead goal. It snapped Pits huge streak with at least a point. I know it doesn't souind as entertaining, but if you saw it, you'd understand.

It was all in good fun. I have nothing against Detroit. He made fun of my state, so I came back. In reality, my state is the one that is getting trouble for athletes. Unfortunately, the Denver Broncos CB Darrent Williams death (R.I.P), Joey Porter from the Pitsberg. Just not as nice a place as it use to be.

Exactly, I'd rather Nashville take the division if the 8th seed is going to be an Oilerlike team of last year. I'm sick of getting knocked out in the first round by the Kings, Ducks, Oilers etc. when they're like 8th or 7th seed. Giguere, Potvin, Roloson - I hate you
-
See what my post stimulates even as dumb as it may be! Hard rock and the Wings. I great mix if I say so myself
-
I agree, division trades do happen (more so Calgary/COL than a COL/VAN). But I would like to know the last time we dealt with the Blues. Anyways for who all is reading this, I didn't think many of my points through, for that I apologize. This turned out to be a funny thread after I read it, I just needed to get some sleep to get over it. To all that I offended or wasted your time with these posts, I'm sorry. Cheers Detroit!
-
Common sense tells you that you don't want to deal your top players to the team you play too much already (especially with the new schedule changes). If you're so smart, when was the last time the Wings have made a deal with the Blues that involved top players. You're prime reason why I say I like Detroit the team, not the place. I guess because I am from Colorado, I am an idiot and no nothing about hockey. And hey, you're in Detroit. Go rob some banks
-
I understand what you're saying. I think this is a wonderful site. That's why I started this thread, to try and stimulate clever dialect. I wont just create a thread next time and just make a bunch of pointless threads. But you have to understand it makes me wary to add on to this site the next time in regaurds to the responses I got here tonight.
-
Do you guys have nothing better to do than just make fun of how stupid this thread is? I'm sorry I started it, I didn't think it was such a big deal. There's nothing I can do about. Just let it die instead of humiliating me over and over
-
If everyone thinks this topic is pointless wouldn't it just be easier to not respond so the topic eventually disappears instead of getting mad at me for throwing my 2 cents in? I don't like the Avs at all, I was born in CO, I guess that means I'm not allowed to like the Wings
-
The only way I could see upping the Preds is if we did a few moves. We could get rid of that lazy guy Langer, get Ktachuk and Guerin. I'm not saying I see us doing that. For one, they'd one quite a bit more than we'd want to give and for two, they would rather shot themselves in the foot than to help their dreaded rival, the Wings. But I ask everyone, where does Kenny look to from here? (I know I spelled our wrong, can't seem to change it)
-
The funny thing is on The Fourth Period, tthere was an article about Forsberg resigning with the Flyers at the start of free agency. I'm not sure if that's true, but I hope he doesn't stay in Nashville
-
I hope Holland can work some deal out that no one really sees coming. I'm not saying getting another Jiri Slegr, but there are better players to fit our team other than the predictables: guerin, keith, bert, smolinski and lapointe. etc.. Please Kenny, we don't need any over the hill players or low life cheap shots. Also, I don't know if anyone else is heard about this, but I've seen a few sites talking about us trying to pickup Hatcher again..... I really hope it is not true
-
I'm being sincere, I promise. But to topic, I live in Colorado so I am forced to watch a lot of Avs games. Why not try to get a guy like Hejduk? No one is untouchable if Super Joe is talking bout being shipped. Hejduk has 5 goals and 2 assists his last 3 games and 9 points his last 5. He's been the only bright spot they've had the last 3 months. Why not give the Avs our bad Cz Rep. with Langer and in return, we get a player that just turned 31 two days ago and a guy that will score. He averages 31 goals a season and has hit the 50 goall mark. He's had a solid international career even. They Avs need leadership with someone other than Sakic and we could use a scorer
-
Sorry if I came off like a jerk, if I offended you, I didn't mean to
-
I agree they're not, but that's not to say I wouldn't be salivating over a Rick Nash or maybe even the potential of a somewhat slumping Zherdev
-
Lang looks like he's skating in cement. While I admit, he does have pretty good skill with the puck, but without it, he looks like a man that could be legally blind. I'm not saying J Will is a good player, but at least the guy is trying
