The plot thickens

My problem with revenue sharing is that the NHL is a business and basically this is an extended form of welfare. I'm not picking on the Preds in particular as there are other teams that are on the same welfare program. The NHL isn't a non profit organization, I firmly believe that if you can't support yourself based on the tools you have to run your business you shouldn't be in business at all. As far as the Titans go, the only team in Tennessee that I support (I gave up on the Lions, was only a fan of #20) they pack 68,000 plus into LP Field 8 times a year and have probably contribute more to the local economy than the Preds have since 1999 so its understandable they get more from the city.

As much as I love having a guy like Drapes on the team at some point we need to get the younger guys out of GR, I'd offer him a one year deal with a club option for a second.

Bill Wirtz memorial/moment of silence booed by Blackhawk fans
WingsZR2 replied to Wings_Fan_In_Exile's topic in General
I was there, the guy behind me was going off during the moment of silence and when the ice girls came out, lets just say the family of 4 to my left go up and left. -
All I'm going to say is that Hank will have 3 points tonight and the Wings win.

Nice hit Kronner

Being a northern transplant I want to point out the misconception of the music scene in Nashville. Country music is prevalent here as it should be but more and more mainstream artists are recording/living/performing here. A couple of weeks ago I saw Bob Dylan play at the historic Ryman Auditorium and Jack White came out and jammed with him. Manchester which is about 60 miles south of Nashville is home to Bonnaroo, the largest music festival in the US. Nashville has a lot to offer music fans outside of country, they just house a s***ty hockey team in a s***ty market.

I wish they just move already so I can collect on my $200 bet and be done with the whole thing.

I feel that we do have a lack of scoring, outside of Z and Dats we don't have a lot of firepower. However out badass D and goalie situation makes up for that.

If I could get the same quality video on full screen I would buy this, oh well.

Has anyone purchased Center Ice online? If so how's the quality? I get between 5-6mbps.

University of Michigan - The upset - The future

Les Miles in 08. That’s all that has to be said. Bring in a new scheme, the current one is 10 years old. -

If Les Miles didn't want to coach at Michigan there wouldn't be a clause in his contract that states if he leaves LSU before 2011 he has to pay the school 500K, 1.5 million if that school happens to be Michigan. He has said in the past that his dream is to coach at Michigan. I would welcome him back to AA, I also have no problem with Tedford. As long as Carr isn't roaming the sidelines next year I'm happy. -

Its time for a major shake up at Michigan. I can only hope that Carr steps down after this year. I can't take losing to Ohio State and not winning a bowl game that matters. Losing to a 1-AA school is embarrassing to say the least. Fresh faces may be able to turn the talent Michigan gets every year into something special. -
Or you can just stop involving Yzerman in every post you leave. The point of the matter is that the Wings drafted Eriksson and then traded him for Chelios. That's a fact, the Wings drafting Bert pure what if. How many fights did Yzerman take part in? Also Yzerman had Probie watching his back and if it came down to who Steve would rather roll with you can take Probie as a sure thing.

Don't get Yzer19 started about Steve and his injuries.

Don't forget the WNBA

Steve Yzerman's # hangs from the rafters of JLA because from 1983 to 2006 he gave everything he had and then some to the Detroit Red Wings and their fans. Its not because he scored 692 goals or 1755 points. He was the PIECE the Wings started building around that restored them to a winning franchise. The personal awards, although nice to have were not the reason he played for so long. It was because he was a warrior, a competitor, and a champion. You're attempt to classify his career by one year holds no merit. He became a legend long before 2002, that year just added to it. Also your bashing of Lids, a player whom Yzerman has said for a # of years has been the Wings best player is weak sauce. Lids play in the 02 cup run, averaging 31 minutes a night while scoring one of the biggest series turning goals can not be looked at in a negative light. He has been the BEST D man in the NHL for the last 10 years. Every member of LGW can probably say that Howe and Yzerman are 1a and 1b as far as importance goes to this franchise, with Lids getting strong consideration as 1c. Oh and Yzerman will be a first ballot HOF'er.

"Changes to Predators lease could affect sale of team"
WingsZR2 replied to hillbillywingsfan's topic in General
As a resident of Davidson county where the Preds play I don't much like the idea of paying any more taxes for this team. -
Stevie Y had nothing left to prove, his name is engraved on Lord Stanley 3 times, he also has himself a nice gold medal. I don't knock you for your memories of how Stevie stepped up in the playoffs, we are aware of that. Yzerman left the game as one of the most respected players in NHL history, not just by the team he played for or the city he restored to glory, the entire NHL. There was no need for him to drag out his career for stats, that's not how Stevie played. He never took credit for a damn thing, always said it was because of the people he played with. So you blame the current roster for his retirement? Not the countless injuries he suffered causing him to have a surgery so radical that it had never been performed on anyone younger than 70? You blame them because he chose to be able to walk his daughters down the aisle rather than risk never being able to walk again. I'm sure they all sat around before game 1 against the Oil and said "Hey lets lose this series and maybe we can force Steve to retire."

D Mac's goal in the SCF will go down as the most important goal scored in modern Wings history IMHO. Theres no denying it was the biggest goal of his career but what it did for this franchise you can't put into words. Being there at the Joe, my father and I crying together, I will never forget that moment. "Darren McCarty was known more for his toughness than his scoring ability. But in the 1997 Finals his cup clinching goal secured his legacy. You may not find McCarty’s name in the Hall of Fame but you will find it on the Stanley Cup"
