If the NHL was consistent in calling penalties that allow for the game to be faster and more skill based, like they said they were going to, then we wouldn't need bigger guys. This is why the NHL is the biggest joke of the 4 major sports. This "old time" hockey crap is exactly that, old. The "New" NHL is starting to look like the days of old but the NHL won't say that. Elbows, hooking, holding, interference, cross-checking, etc. are just as prevalent as they were pre-lockout. Enforce the rules like you said you would NHL and you might be able to attract those casual fans.

The refs didn't miss things, they flat out ignored things. MrSandMan nailed it on the head plus, Ozzie gets these long ass whistles, but Hiller gets quicker than quick whistles and he doesn't even have the puck. You're just trying to start s*** because the Ducks won. If you lost that game you couldn't complain because the Ducks got ALL the breaks. Half the rules are ignored in the playoffs, why would that be any different? The NHL makes such a big deal about the new rules but then they throw them out the window day 1 of the playoffs. The NHL says they are trying to cut down on hits to the head but they don't suspend players that do. Players can sucker punch other players and only get fined. The NHL is now worse than the NBA in terms of officiating.

Datsyuk is fighting with gloves and no helmet. Neidameyer has no gloves and adjusts his helmet so that his visor blocks most of his face so that Datsyuk cannot hit him. Biggest ***** fight ever.
