The league is doing a piss poor job of marketing itself. The NHL cannot become a force by marketing one player and one team. Crosby is not even the best player on his own team but he is marketed as the second coming of Christ. If Crosby was as good as the NHL makes him out to be, then Z would not have shut him down for 2 consecutive SCFs. The NFL is successful at marketing its sport because they market multiple stars and multiple teams, just as the NBA does. You would think Bettman would understand this seeing as he came from the NBA. Until the league markets multiple stars and multiple teams, it will continue to be a second tier sport.

Flip is not going anywhere. He proved his value in the playoffs and he is essential to have on a line with Hossa. Flip was tied for the team lead in assists with Z. Kenny wouldn't trade him last year. Why would this year be any different?

Even if the Wings don't resign Hossa, I think Sammy is gone. Also, if Kenny can get a second-rounder for Hudler, I think he might move him. I'd say the odds are 75-25 in favor of Hossa staying.

Lappy would be a nice addition and a big upgrade over Sammy. Plus, Lappy is also a right handed shot. Although I never liked that PP unit with Sammy out on the point. I really think that Stuart needs to be used on the PP more.
