Round 1: (2) Red Wings vs. (7) Blue Jackets

He's a troll. What do you expect? Also, he probably just jumped on the bandwagon.

Experience always wins out. Nash cannot and will not single handedly beat the Wings in a 7 game series. Pens fans would love you. They yelled and screamed about how the Wings were old too. Turns out they were rig...oh yeah, they were wrong and watched the Wings hoist the Cup.

Round 1: (2) Red Wings vs. (7) Blue Jackets

Oh, so you openly admit that the Jackets only have one player that is capable of doing anything against the Wings. Yes, Columbus beat the Wings 8-2, but every Jackets fan forgets that the next game you played against us you got your asses handed to you. Don't wake a sleeping bear.

    VERSUS Playoff Games

It's a product of making the playoffs for 18 consecutive seasons compared to the 1 time Columbus has made it. Also, not everyone has the disposable income to purchase the tickets. Look at years past, the Joe was always sold out for the playoffs. I invite you to buy some tickets and come watch your team lose.
  5. Leave it to a Jackets fan to believe a monkey.

Round 1: (2) Red Wings vs. (7) Blue Jackets

Oh look, a Blue Jacket fan trolling. How cute. I'm surprised he figured out how to sign up for the site. Wings fans have heard this tired, old argument from every troll from the opposing team every year in the playoffs. Keep up with that delusion. Congrats, a minor leaguer made your team. But he will soon find out that the NHL is not the AHL. Oh wow. He broke a 9 year old record? Amazing! The bottom of the conference is reserved for the Jackets and they fit oh so nice down there. If I recall correctly, once the Wings played the Jackets after the 8-2 loss, they shut your entire team down including Nash and Mason and won 4-0. I guess those 2 decided not to show up in that big game. Anyways, that will be the team that you are facing in the playoffs. Talk about domination. Good lucking winning 4 games against them.

    Bill Clement at it again

He talks about the '06 Red Wings like they were the only #1 seed to ever lose to a #8 seed. Get over it Clement, that was '06, this is '09. We don't have Leagace between the pipes to collapse on us. Also, the critics always bring up the '06 Wings. Always, every year.

MacTavish steps down as Oilers coach

He'll get a job somewhere. He is a good coach. Maybe Minnesota should take a look at him.

    Break out the Brooms

I want to keep this thread specific to the first round match ups. Which team is most likely to be the first sent home after posting a fat 0 in their playoff win column? Post even if you do not think that there will be a sweep in the first round. Western Conference #1 San Jose Sharks vs. #8 Anaheim Ducks #2 Detroit Red Wings vs. #7 Columbus Blue Jackets #3 Vancouver Canucks vs. #6 St. Louis Blues #4 Chicago Blackhawks vs. #5 Calgary Flames Eastern Conference #1 Boston Bruins vs. #8 Montreal Canadiens #2 Washington Capitals vs. #7 New York Rangers #3 New Jersey Devils vs. #6 Carolina Hurricanes #4 Pittsburgh Penguins vs. #5 Philadelphia Flyers I am going with the Bruins sweeping the Canadiens. The Canadiens are missing top point getters in Lang and Markov, plus Schneider will be playing with a shoulder injury that requires surgery, so his performance will suffer. Basically, the Canadiens will be missing a presence on the blue line during the power play. Also, Price has been shaky at best this season and is capable of losing games on his own.

The "I Support Dan Cleary and Brad Stuart" Thread

From what I recall, Cleary is the only player who chases the puck into the corner and fights for it. Other guys either don't or get thrown off the puck rather quickly. Cleary is a nice fit for our 3rd line and is capable of moving up to cause some havoc in front of the goalie.

Game simulation - Wings out in first round

Yeah, ok EA. I play NHL 09 all the time and weird s*** happens in that game all the time. I'll trust Maggie the monkey before I start listening to a video game. I do not accept my computer overlords.

    Break out the Brooms

See, i think that Carolina is going to take that series. There is just something about Carolina this year. That have that look. Just me though.

Round 1: (2) Red Wings vs. (7) Blue Jackets

The Wings should give Mason his due. He is an excellent goalie that is extremely capable and will be good for a long time. He is not however the be all end all goalie that many make him out to be. He has played a ton of games this season and probably would have played more if he had not gotten sick. I believe he is 1-5 in his last 6 games and his GAA and Save % are down. Mason is only human. The regular season is all fine and dandy, but it is nothing compared to the playoffs.

Round 1: (2) Red Wings vs. (7) Blue Jackets

Yes there is. It is in the center of the wheel that makes up the Winged Wheel. Babcock presses it on every player before Game #1.

Round 1: (2) Red Wings vs. (7) Blue Jackets

I've been reading on Jackets fan boards and every other post seems to be about how they just bought tickets for one of the first two games of the series for like $40. I hope I am wrong, but seeing as how last year the first round didn't come close to a sell out.

Round 1: (2) Red Wings vs. (7) Blue Jackets

The Joe is going to be full of Jackets fans because of all the available tickets. I bet there won't be as many Wings fans down in Columbus.
