Wow. Idk the last time I woke up before noon on a Saturday. It will be worth it though to watch Datsyuk and Ovechkin.

This is too logical of a move for it to occur. I completely agree with it though.

This is in no way a slap at Downey. I just think the Wings are trying to see how the young kids play so that they have an idea of what they want to do with contracts and possible trades. I have no idea what the Wings see in Kopecky because he is flat out awful. Hopefully he will part ways with the team and Downey gets his roster spot. I'm looking forward to see Abdelkader play. I think he has a bight future with this team. Also, I am interested in seeing Leino play. If he has a strong showing, I would consider trading Filpula and pluging Leino into his spot. The injuries are really starting to take their toll. It seems that Z is no longer missing games as a precautionary measure, but because his back is really acting up. I hope I am wrong on that one though. Hopefully Hudler can skate up and get some decent ice time on the second line.

Babcock needs to pull a Herb Brooks.

All of this faith in Osgood reminds me of all the faith we put in Manny Legace, then the playoffs happened. I hope Osgood can return to form, but as of now he is crap and needs to ride the bench and work on his penmanship.

That is their policy and that will always be their policy. It was a terrible call, but we will get over it eventually. The NHL should really try to keep O'Hallaron out of games the Wings play and most definitely keep him out of the Stanley Cup Finals.

All the games were officiated by O'Hallaron and every single goal was waved off by O'Hallawrong. Props to Pierre in the first video for siding with the Wings. IMO, the goal waved off against Pitt was the worst call of them all. Screw O'Hallaron.

The Wings better turn those GR minutes into RW minutes. Downey has earned a spot in the lineup, IMO.

Well, since we have Hossa, let's just keep him. Frazen, at this point, does not look like he is worth $3-4 million a year.

I'd give some credit to Hossa too. He had some nice plays out there tonight nd not to mention the first goal.

If this is what Franzen looks like in a contract year, then I don't want him back on the Wings. Either he is playing hurt or he just doesn't care. If he keep sthis up I will have no problem sending him off.

I thought Downey was the only player on the lower lines that looked pretty good tonight. He brings a lot of energy and he knows how to throw his body around. Since he was on a crappy line, he didn't have very many opportunities for points, but I think he could put some goals on the board. I think that Kopecky should be dumped from the team because he plays like s*** constantly. Draper should center a line with Maltby and Downey on either side.

All around this was just a terrible game. Our top line looked good, but anything past that was pretty blah. I thought Downey brought a lot of energy when he was out on the ice and that hit parade he lead near the end of the 2nd was amazing. I think the Wings should look at starting Downey on a lower line, maybe replace that crap bag Kopecky. The Wings had a shot, but once O'Hallawrong called off the goal the Wings looked flat and then came out for the third dead. Babcock had a real off night too. Idk why he was playing the lower lines so much in the waining minutes of the game and Hudler was barely on the ice. Osgood has gone cold and he needs to warm the bench for a few games. I thought Conks looked pretty solid, despite that embarassing goal. I say let's just forget about it, piss and moan about O'Hallawrong and look forward to a better game against the Caps.

O'Hallaron is a tool and has some kind of vendetta against the Wings. That was a good goal. Homer got backed into Turco and then he put on a show. Then O'Hallaron wouldn't even go address Babcock at the end of the period. What an ******* he is. Bettman's favorite ref has got to be O'Hallaron because he is a sad sack excuse for a ref. That call on Draper was horrible too.

The Wings are lucky to have this sort of problem. A lot of teams in the NHL would be dying to have the kind of talent the Wings have. Whoever the Wings sign, we know for sure that they are an excellent player.

I agree. It sounds pretty precautionary. Besides, we get Lidstrom and Datsyuk back tomorrow. The Wings should look a lot better.

Crosby gets to play because he does whatever Bettman tells him to do. If Bettman told Crosby to get down on his knees in front of him, he would.

What about Kopecky?

I'd also have to agree with this. I think Hossa would be willing to take another one year deal for less than he is worth if the Wings make a nice push into the playoffs. Once you get a taste of playoff success, it sticks in your mouth for a long time. Hossa has many years left in the NHL and can make his fortune after having a career year in Detroit next season. I think you can get Franzen to take less, same with Hudler, but I don't think you can keep them both. Maybe dishing Filpula would be able to make that a reality, but I don't know about that. I'd take Hossa over Franzen, if he shows up in the playoffs that is.
