Alright i finished studying for my test and then just went and took it, so i am free for the night ready to watch the wings kick some pred butt. what line is bootland on?

I think the only risk is the possibilty that the back may go bad again. I could care a less how long it takes for him to come back as long as he is hear for playoffs its ok with me. As for him messing up the chemistry, if you have watched any of the games since the nnoucnement of the trade, you can see that the wings are estatic that they have him and clader in detroit. They are starting to play a more physical game so that they are ready to play grittier and more physical when he gets back in the game. The team knew they were soft, and they knew they had to fix it. I think this trade was awesome, and i dont think anything will happen in the chemistry of the team, i thik the chemistry is going to sky rocket thru the roof. And i should know, im a biochem major... haha

we got alot of injuries but alot of nashvilles key players are out too, should be a good matchup like always. I just wish i didnt have a test to study for so i could enjoy it...

I think its a shame that we lost him. He wasnt the greatest goalie but he was still young and i think he could have been great with the wings. Unfortuanelty for him the wings dont lack great goaltending, and being the worst of the best goaltenders in detroit doesnt get you alot of playing time so its better for him that he is gone and playing rather than rotting in the wings minors system.

Have you met any current/former Red Wings? If so...

I met maltby i work at best buy he came in and i talked to him and sold him a camera and a tv. Really nice guy. I hapened to have 3 wings tickets in my car that day and i was fortuanate enough to run out to the car and grab them and he signed them and everything. Really nice guy, down to earth. I felt bad for him though because noone in the store really knew who it was untill i told people and then everyone was all around him lol. I'd hate t obe a celebrity. I also met zetterberg obviously look at the pick to the left haha. He was a good guy to. -
Im glad so many other people are seeing waht im seeing. I didnt like the trade. I like williams (despite all the crap that you guys are now going to be throwing my way for admitting it) he was struggling this year though. Although others may say that this year is how he always plays and that last years performace was a fluke, however you slice it, i liked him in a wings jersey and was kind of upset that we traded him for calder. I never followed calder, i knew of him and everything, just never followed his stats or anything. So when i looked and compared stats of him and williams once the trade was made i was really upset because williams had one more point than him this year thus far. Now one point inst a big deal, but i also factored in the month or so that williams missed. A guy who missed a month has more stats than this guy that has played the entire year? That made me iffy. But obviously it was the fact that he was stuck in a flyers jersey that was killing his stats. He brings much more to the team than williams did. Grit, speed, determination, never gives up on a play. Now he doesnt play the point, but then again neither could williams (haha) I think hes ganna have a great run with the wings this year, and depending how he performs in the playoffs we will see if we should sign him next year. Hes gotta change his number though because all i think about is dougie brown when i see 17 (and yes i know hull wore 17 too but i saw brown when hull wore it too)
-
have you ever seen something so beautiful? TEXTBOOK Lang is ganna hve a good game
-
So far not seeing as much grit as we have seen the past week or two, i hope it wasnt just a fluke, i hope we see a lil more of it during the second and third.
-
Im not saying ozzie isnt a solid goalie, hes been pretty good lately when we need him to be. I just figured that after playing with another goalie for so long that things might wear off on one another, but their styles never seem to crossover.
-
2 things i noticed. 1) seems like the winged wheel works for Calder (3 points so far in 4 periods of play) and 2) i think its crazy to see how different ozzie and hasek play. You would think two goailes in the same team would have the same style of play. But you have hasek who has no rhythem or technique but has been awesome, and who loves to keep the puck moving and then you have ozzie who is very technical with his type of play, and rarely keeps the puck moving. Half the time he will come out of the crease to cover the puck to stop play. I just think its wierd that the rest of the team has to change their style of play depending on what goalie is in.

doesnt feel like he has 15 goals already this year

Got it that time

Is anyone else ridiculously excited and have the sudden urge to go out and purchase a bertuzzi jersey right now?
-
yeah it was a joke, apparently not a good one
-
Did anyone else notice that the wings played much more physical against chicago on tuesday than they have against anyone in years? I think with just the addition of Calder and the thought of Bertuzzi on the wings minds that they are starting to make a transition into a hard working skillfull gritty team. Now im not saying they are going to be a team full of bob proberts, but i think their attitudes have changed from "oh great lets go out there and out skate the other team but get our butts kicked phsyically" to "now we are an all around team, lets play like it and not take crap from noone." Now this is just after one game, so dont quote me on it, but i think this is the turn around we needed. What do you guys think?

I jsut hope they keep up the play. I think the game against philly was a kick in the butt for them. They saw how badly they were out played physicallly, and they saw what that can lead to as they lost the game. With that loss, and the fact that other teams watching could now see what they had to do to beat the wings, they must of seen that they had to do something to stay up top the mountain. I think teams are ganna start second guessing themselves about trying to knock us around so much with bert and clader now. The whole team seems geeked too, like the post about Hudler showed, even the munchkin wants to get in a scrap. LOVE IT! -
Um hello what are you guys stupid or something....Joey Macdonald is the futuree of the red wings between the pipes. Isnt it obvious? I cant beleive some of you...

I agree about malts. Ive been a huge fan of him for years, and it was really depressing the past few months to hear people jumping all over his back about how hes no good anymore, but i think tuesdaysgame showed alot of people hes still got alot of fuel in his tank. Hopefully he can keep it up and play like that for the rest of the season and seasons to come. Also i agree on the comment about calder being a pretty big guy for a samll guy. He reminds me a little of tie domi. Not as phsyical, but he has the same napolean complex. Now obviously noone can compare to domi, but you know what i mean. -

Glad to see that comment from chelli at the end. I knew it wouldnt be a problem with those too, but its just nice to see comfirmation on it. Im glad hes looking good, although not really a shock, i think putting a red wings jersey on can make just about anyone feel better and ready to play. I think im more excited about his return to the ice than he is. I was hoping he would be ready to go this week, but id rather have him at 100% and play all games through to playoffs rather than have him at 80% now and hurt for playoffs. -
Or a simple back ahnd he could have stopped. He just scares me whe nhe does that, i dont want him injured going into playoffs.
-
why cant he just sit in that net and take him on one and one for once! instead he has to give everyone a heart attack and risk injury
-
Congrats.
