I hope I'm not viewed as crazy for this, but I want the Wings to get Ian Laperriere. He reportedly rejected the Avs offer to him, and will become a UFA. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=281630. Lose Hossa and Sammy, sign Lappy. The D-corps should be fine, at least until the deadline. Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Cleary Franzen-Filppula-Hudler Leino-Helm-Lapperiere Maltby-Draper-Holmstrom Lidstrom-Rafalski Kronwall-Stuart Ericsson-Lilja Lebda Losing any one or any combination of Draper, Maltby, and Holmstrom and being able to resign sammy wouldn't be too bad either.

Awesome! I think you may have posted it slightly wrong though. It appears to be a thumnail, and I see that there is a [ / url ] in your post (I put spaces so it would show). At no point should you be using [ url ]. Just put the link itself in between the [ img ] tags. Also, be sure to use the "Direct Link to Image" link given to you by image shack. Great job on the rock though. -

If it's at all humanly possible, I will be wearing my 2008 champs shirt, under my Hossa shirt, under my datsyuk shirt, under my Cleary jersey. I wasn't wearing my damn Cleary jersey during that breakaway, and I feel really ******* responsible. I wore it to the Joe for game 7 against the Ducks, and it worked big time. WTF WAS I THINKING!!!!

I wouldn't say he hasn't helped at all, but I will say with confidence that he hasn't helped as much as a player who signed specifically to win the stanley cup and put up major points in the regular season should have. Having 3 good games isn't enough.

Fair enough, but Franzen also scored two goals in that game. I haven't seen a single game where Hossa was the sole reason we won. You would kind of hope that a superstar who took less money to win a cup would be able to throw a performance like that together just once in a post season when the rest of his team was struggling. Hopefully, he doesn't have to be the only guy Friday, but more of the same from Marian probably won't be good enough. So far, I've only seen Hossa score goals when it didn't seem to be much of a problem for anybody.

The way Hossa came here, turning down tens of millions of dollars for the sole purpose of winning the stanley cup, at least means that for one playoff game, he needs to be THE GUY. Hossa hasn't been the guy once this postseason, when guys like Helm and Abdelkader have. He has one last chance, and he better make the best of it. If not, he only has himself to blame. It's not Hossa hating after a loss, it's just reality. If Hossa doesn't have a great game on Friday and the Wings lose the cup, his whole season was a complete failure.

I say split them up, but actually have dats be on fils wing just like he was for Z. Fil being center and working with Hossa can't be even tweaked IMO. And as we saw last night, Dats playmaking ability isn't hindered by playing wing.

Every night Lilja comes around the net with one hand on his stick and I wake up cold, sweaty, and shaking violently. Well, maybe not that bad. But close.

I think that Ericsson has been awful this series as well though. He's looking a lot like 2007 Lilja to me. Turnover after turnover. He's shown that he can be great, but lets not forget he's a rookie. I would even be ok with playing lebda with Stu a bit and upping his minutes. He's been solid all spring.

I wouldn't worry about it. I see the whole karma argument too, but who can honestly say that they don't think about these kind of things. I've probably run every scenario 1000 times through my head over the past few days. It's fun stuff to think about. Afterall, the playoffs are the most exciting time of the year.

I'm done on Thursday, but I'm not heading out until Friday. I'm pretty pissed about it too. I know people had legitimate complaints about how ESPN treated hockey, but that still doesn't make versus a better alternative. The league should not have signed a deal with a network that isn't basically universally available around the country.
