LOL at Brett Hull telling Senators fans NOT to boo Sidney Crosby because he's the class of the NHL. WTF is that, it's the playoffs, what are they supposed to do roll out the red carpet, give me a break.

Any thoughts? I see this year's team as being a bit grittier and I feel more confident about our goaltending situation. As far as goal scoring I am a bit concerned (although that is what ultimately did this team in last year's playoffs IMO) and without Stevie I don't see as strong leadership...no shot at Lids, but let's be honest Y was one of the best captains ever. I'd like to hear some of your thoughts. And I don't mean points wise or results wise, I mean as an actual team, is this year's playoff team better than last year.

OK, I didn't read through all 4 pages, but 2 things stick out here. 1)The Wings won the West mostly without Bertuzzi, the sky is definately not falling, if they can win game 1 without Bert that will be a huge boost. However, losing game 1 will be very rough. 2)What is the condition about Bertuzzi playing in a certain % of playoff games?

Well I have this red rubber octopus that I throw towards the tv every time the wings score or win, but a couple years ago my girlfriend had gotten me a yellow one, and I saved it for the playoffs. Now it sits on my shelf waiting for playoff season.

I remember some of those. Does anyone have any of the others. The only ones I've been able to find is the "Without Stanley" one and of course "Hey Hey Hockeytown"

A lot of love goes out to it being the 11 year anniversary of Chris Osgood scoring a goal against the Whale. I was there in attendance, and I'll never forget that.

I'm surprised he wasn't too lazy to sign an autograph But seriously, after analyzing the autograph would you say it sucks? But in all seriousness that is pretty cool. I remember when I met Pedro Martinez in the men's room at TGI Friday's in South Beach. He's really the only athlete I've ever met, except for the wrestler Mick Foley (not sure if that counts as an athlete). I also met Aaron Lewis from Staind one time, he was at a Magic show I was opening for and came up to me after and tried to get a trick out of me so he could impress people with it...which you can imagine was ridiculous because Magicians never tell. Okay so i gave in, I taught him something very basic and he gave me a 2 tickets to his show the next night and a bunch of stuff, it was pretty cool.

Wow, could that have been one of the worst trades ever. Imagine what the Panthers could have gotten for Luongo if they kept him and dealt him at the trade deadline? In the end all they got for Luongo (also Krajicek and a 6th round pick) was Bryan Allen, Alex Auld, Shawn Matthias and the conditional picks. Wow...just wow.

Looking at his stats, I noticed he's already played 44 games this season and is starting again tonight. I have been really pleased with how well he's played all season, but I just hate to see him get injured this late in the season. I knowthe Wings are currently in a tight race so every game is important, but I think Osgood should be getting some more starts.

Yeah, but nobody is mentioning that in like 9 out of the last 10 years he's played over 70 games a year. Not trying to take anything away from him, but how many other goalies have played nearly as many games?

Who will the Wings have as free agents? And do you think it's going to be possible to sign Bertuzzi and Datsyuk while still keeping some cap room for other FA's?

Because we're still in the NHL . Wait, what? The Blues ARE still in the NHL...who knew?

No doubt Chelios can get over it. with all the dirty plays Chelios has made over the year he can certainly understand that it's part of the game.

Long time reader, and a first time poster. I am absolutely thrilled we got Bertuzzi. I am 1000x happier that we got him as opposed to Guerin. I think the upside of this deal definately outweighs the risks.
