No, but if you put Bertuzzi and Cleary on his wings then they might score. I guess it depends on what you're looking for. But given the players Detroit will have there could be a fair amount of switches until the right guys fit together and align. Given the $ figure, loyalty and you-know-what-you-get-player that Bert is I don't think Detroit can pass on him.

Kane should never have been on the cover and the only reason I'm annoyed is because there'll be two 'Hawks in a row. But Toews is very deserving.

Gotta love that the same arguments come up between the exact same people whenever Hudler's name pops up in a thread. I think Hudler will be more than enough given that Detroit hopefully won't have the same injury issues like they did last season.

If you know the Wings more than casually then none of this is exactly surprising. But it'll be nice to read about the other teams.

I don't really see the big deal - Pronger is a ******, most people acknowledge that. I haven't actually talked to anyone who thinks he's an honorable guy. That goes for his on-ice performance; don't really care how he is in person. The only reason this is an issue is because Adam Burish had the bad taste to bring it up at the time he did.

I'm not sure if you were being ironic or anything - in retrospect you did lay it on pretty strong so maybe you weren't being serious. But you really think that making predictions like this takes much "courage"? I root for Leino for pretty much the same reason why I root for Hudler but to a much lesser degree. Not gonna go into the reasons because they get re-hashed every time there's a thread about either. In any case I hope that Leino will do even better next and future seasons. But I PREDICT that he'll have maybe a couple of 60+ point seasons given the right line-mates and enough PP-time (that goes for Hudler as well) but still devolve to some kind of PP specialist eventually anyway. But, if in 3 years it turns out that my prediction was completely wrong I probably won't care that much... If he wins the Art Ross I'll probably care I guess but otherwise... not really. And that was the point of my original post.

Steve Yzerman would have to do something majorly f***ed up for me to start losing my awe for him. After getting permission to do so he got two guys to come down to Tampa. Are those two guys major components of the Red Wings success? Maybe the capologist, but I doubt it. One scout won't make a big difference. He's not stealing these guys away like a thief in the night; everything has been done above board with the approval of the Red Wings head honchos. If they don't have any issues, why should I?

Agreed. A lot will depend on whether Tatar has a good training camp but I really hope he makes the team; it's fun to watch a young guy develop, especially a guy with so much offensive talent like Tatar. Btw, that "Jiri Hudler is a top-line player" thing will get you into trouble, like it always does. But at least I agree with you, not that it matters much.

What pisses me off is that everyone seems to be making fun of Detroit for somehow missing that Leino is such a powerhouse. Every time he's mentioned in an article, it seems that they have to add that "Detroit missed out on him" or "Detroit management must be tearing out their own hair for failing to notice such talent." It's fine if you do that now and then but it's getting kind of ridiculous.

Wojtek Wolski was born in Poland but he is a Canadian citizen. I'm guessing the guy born in Brunei isn't actually a citizen either. But otherwise I really appreciate the list - esp if you did it when drunk.
