Would be cool but at the same time I don't really care. Although if Lidström gets 20+ goals then he'll definitely have another Norris. But scoring overall hasn't really been the problem this year.

I wouldn't mind throwing in some of the youngsters a little bit earlier than last year. Maybe they'll be a bit hungrier than some of the established players and give the team a couple of wins and the youngsters some valuable experience. But yeah, a team can't be hot all the time either, though the Wings don't seem as tight as last year. I'm not too worried though, I don't think the management and coaching staff is unaware of what's going on. I'm one of those guys who just has a lot of trust in Babcock and Holland.

Meh. The Detroit management have a tendency of pulling magic tricks out of their hats but I have a bad feeling. But I had that last year as well and that turned out ok. But grabbing a high quality goaltender will be very very very hard considering what's available and the price on the market.

The amount seems fair. Contract length is... worrying. I would prefer a few years less. I'm not saying I don't want Z to stay in Detroit forever but let it happen a few years at a time.

Eh, I'd rather try to prioritize a replacement defenseman. Altho I think Lids will give Detroit at least one more season. But otherwise the Wings could try to snag Kubina or Gonchar who'll also be UFA... and you're free to judge that last part however you wish...

Whenever I start a new EA NHL game he always gets traded within the first season - ALWAYS. But then that's a game and rarely makes sense. The amount that Montreal would have to give for the guy is quite likely unreal but then I'm pretty sure they'd make up a sizable chunk from the amount of new jerseys sold. Hell, I would even be tempted to buy one (half-joking).

That's exactly what I wrote to a friend of mine on MSN . I think the environment is really stifling the Swedish players while the Canadians are thriving.

It doesn't really matter if he's Canadian, Swedish or Turkish. All I was saying was that if this happened in the NHL, no matter nationality, not just once, but twice, someone would have to throw down the gloves. It doesn't really matter if he's embellishing - you just don't do that kind of stuff to a goalie without suitable response. And if you don't agree with that last part then I don't really see a reason for arguing with you.
