I get that. For me it's really the Wings, Liverpool and the Frölunda Indians. After that, I don't give a crap about what team wins. But if there's a particular player that I really like, let's say Wayne Rooney, then yeah I'll cheer for Man Utd in the Champions League final. And yeah, I'll probably be happier if they win it then.

I don't really cheer for another team. I'd cheer for a player like Ovie in Washington or Richards in Philly. I don't think I could care any less if those teams won. But if my team gets eliminated I'd be happier if one of my fave players wins...

Yeah. But like Daniel Larsson himself said I think it's better to expect him to play like Ersberg rather than Lundqvist. If Larsson manages to do that I'd be very very happy. Consider that Ersberg finished out the season on an awful Kings' team and he only lost 5 of the games in regular time and managed a GAA of 2.48 and SV% of .927 in 14 games. I think that's pretty goddamn impressive. But it remains to be seen if Larsson can do that. EDIT: And about the vet-goalie thing. Guess who becomes UFA this summer. Olaf Kolziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig!!!

I hear ya! But the Wings are slowly approaching a point where they either have to go with someone who is "unproven" or have to trade for a big name guy... But like you said before, that's not Red Wings logic. Red Wings logic then dictates you go find a vet who is 35+ and go with that guy. It's worked for Detroit before, but who is the goalie now? It's not Hasek. It's the guy who's been in the organization for a long time (Osgood never left damnit!!).

Didn't see that actually. My bad. And I don't really see why people are making this out to be such a big deal. I'm just happy Detroit has another quality goalie prospect. They aren't exactly easy to come by. And even then, sure, they rarely pan out. But he's NOT a new Liv, the guy is a lot more stable than that and also he seems a lot more comfortable about coming over to play in NA. I'm just happy he seems committed to making the best of the opportunity. Best case scenario, J-Ho displaces Ozzie from the No. 1 spot but how likely is that, really? Hopefully, if it still boils down to that, the Red Wings won't have to go after top goalies with the desperation that's becoming apparent. Options are always good to have.

Well, at least he picked a good organization. Lots of young Swedes in the organization, even a coach. He prolly figures he'll get more playing time there, well, who knows, he might... I hope this is the last time we see this kinda crap from an agent...

Yeah, I'll still watch Sweden play but I've given up on them winning anything. I tried to defend them a little bit at the beginning of the tournament but it's just getting silly now. Maybe with Lundqvist in goal they'll be able to steal a game but I doubt that'll get them very far. I'd be extremely elated if they make it past the quarter-final. Canada has been extremely entertaining, as has the US. Russia looks extremely bored (big surprise!) but they'll likely bring the game that's necessary to at least make it to a semi-final. I think those are the three teams that'll battle it out for the win, one of the other 'big' teams will make it, but I really doubt they'll be able to reach a final. All credit to the smaller nations like Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, hell even Norway, who've really surprised. Obviously not powerhouses but it still shows some teams besides the 'Big 7' belong in the World Championships. Then you have teams like France and others that are just silly (poor Huet, did you see the flippety-goal Bäckström scored on him?)...

As long as the contract size is reasonable - and why wouldn't it be - I'm all for this...

Well at least he's opinionated. I only watch the intermission stuff if he's on there, sure he's an ass but he's also very entertaining.
