Not really surprised it's Avery pulling a thing like this out of his hat. I was watching some of the game, including tht play, and Brodeur was distracted by it so it was effective in its own particular way. Holmström manages to distract goalies AND play the game which is something Avery didn't really mange - can't really play if ur stick isn't on the ice. It seems to be a new thing and it remains to be seen whether it'll be allowed. Not really sure if I like it or not, tbh it looked like something a 10 year old might do. But Avery does have real talent for antagonizing players...

But it's not just him anymore, with Bodreu they're playing a fun offense-minded game that inspires players. Just look at how much more fun Feds seems to have now... I'm not gonna apologize for cheering for a team that plays entertaining hockey and that have just completed a crazy turnaround to make the playoffs (22 out of 24 points in their final games). A real cinderella story and anything beyond this for the Caps is a bonus. And the match-up against Ottawa is wide open.

I'm not gonna worry yet - there's no point. If Detroit can't beat Nashville I don't want to suffer the letdown and therefore I'm not going to get excited. Doesn't mean I'm not going to take the Preds seriously, it's more of a reaction towards Detroit's previous years.

I'd rather see the Sens in the playoffs than some other teams but as long as the Caps make it I don't care at all. I just got my Bäckström jersey and I wanna be able to wear it for a little while longer...
