Yeah. Maybe not. I understand where you're coming from though. With the logjam of talent we have right now, it's difficult to say what we're going to do. But I don't think having Lebda switch around is the answer.

Why there is ZERO risk of losing McCarty on waivers when called up
SweWings replied to Son of a Wing's topic in General
The fact that it's Mac making a comeback for Detroit would make anyone claiming him very very very bad. I'd automatically hate that team for the rest of time and I can't imagine that ANYONE would be ok with it. -
Every one has opinions u know...
-
Well, I guess they're just making sure Ericsson gets real comfortable playing with some of the better guys so he'll have no problems later if he has to be called up. I don't doubt it's temporary.
-
and while Ovie certainly has been amazing so far in his short career but with Backstrom developing and maturing fast he'll likely be able to improve at least a little bit on the numbers he's had so far. It'll be fun to see those two during the next few years.

I like this jersey quite a bit and if a team has a 3rd jersey that actually works why not use it?
-
I'm confused
-
It's gonna be interesting how this equipment/goal-size thing develops and whether it actually has any impact. But I don't doubt change is coming.
-
Hmm, then I think I'll go with Bengt-Åke Gustafsson. But hey, if we win a Cup real soon I'll prolly change my mind. I'm very fickle.

Don't think anyone has quite the resume that he boasts
-
Yeah, that whole Feds+Semin line seemed kinda gone the whole game. Well thank god they have fringe players like Ovechkin and Backstrom who can pick up the slack.
-
wow, what an amazing game... what happened to Huet?
-
That last goal, signed Ovie+Backstrom, was a beaut!
-
No, but Bäckström is VERY involved. If Ovie is finally back on track, Bäckström is going to shoot up to the top of the rookie-list.
-
First period too, INSANE!!

These things always smell kinda funny don't they... No one else will likely touch the guy and it seems probable he'll take a discount for them so Avalanche it is. Will probably be the same for flopparoo if he regains any kind of form.
-
We also have a darkhorse in Daniel Larsson. And he'll likely also be ready at the end of the '09 season. Hopefully he'll be the go-to Swe goalie for international tournaments by then and will have won SEL with Djurgården (not sure if I like this but hey if it gives Detroit a good goalie...). Other than that I'd prefer Howard to pan out but if that doesn't happen then...
-
Exactly. Topics like this make me sad.
-
Lidström is irreplaceable but at least we have some future talent on the team
-
yaaaaay!!! *victory dance*

I'm not really worried about the forwards or defensemen but rather whether the tandem of Osgood/Howard is good enough for next season. Cuz Howard is supposed to be the dream, finally a "franchise" goalie who'll stick around for 10 years, but I'm not confident he's the guy. Problem is there's not many good goalies becoming UFA at the end of the season. Oh and Brunnström is definitely not a done deal although Detroit is likely among the teams he'd prefer to play for. As much as I love Rex, I'd rather have Brunnström but we'll see how it goes. (His name translates to Wellstream... How strange)

I still have doubts about the Penguins but I hope he gets back soon. Can't say I want them to win, but I'd rather make fun of them for failing with a healthy, full squad than an injury-destroyed one.

Well it's about time!!

Yeah, and Lang will fly...
