I don't want to bring too much crap on myself but here we go anyway: At least Forsberg had injury issues. Doesn't make it completely right I suppose but he does have a pretty real excuse.

There are some big questions to be answered before this gets anywhere: is there really enough money? Are the players good enough for this to be entertaining enough? What countries? What teams? How many teams? What format? Will elimination be possible - will advancement from lower, eg national leagues, be possible? I already attend more or less every home game for Frölunda Indians and I guess I'd be even more interested if the team faced international opposition on a regular basis. When it comes to attendance I don't think there'll be the same problems as those faced by some US-based teams. Countries like Russia, Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Switzerland have a genuine hockey interest. Even a city like London could probably support a big-league hockey team - there's like 30'000+ Swedes alone, not to mention all the other nationalities. I love that that's the first place u go!!

Agreed. As much as I'd love to have a "rugged North American players who also have skill" (as you call them) I'd rather Detroit wins. Not that I'd mind Detroit picking someone like that up...And next post-season Detroit might actually have the cap-space for it (a guy can dream, right?).

Any kind of depth that we can get for cheap would be great. It's extremely doubtful we'll get a real impact player like we're all hoping for. But do we really need one? Really? With the style of hockey we play, and the players that we do have, and the way it's going right now, trading away youth seems like a waste...Unless of course it is for an impact player ...

Detroit's been my fave team for 15 years now and I'm not gonna lie: I probably cheer a little extra when a Swede scores. Having some dominating Swedes on the team is a LOT of fun. But I'd definitely still cheer for Detroit even if Lidström and Zetts weren't on the team. But yeah, it's easier for me to identify with the Swedes than it is with, I don't know...Downey...I tried most of the other names but I can't help it - I love everyone on our team...even Sammy. And it's great to see a kid even a little shorter than me make it in the NHL; Hudler. But I have to say that personality-wise the players on our team are a bit vanilla. It'd be fun to have a player with more attitude - doesn't have to be a NA player, just look at Ovie.
