Anyone know why the Red Wing is there in the first place?
-
Win. Don't really need the other explanations.

The banner will hang right above the home team goal to remind the current tender of Cloutier's legendary play.

Given that the PA protests weren't exactly vocal one could assume that their defense of this particular contract is not a priority. They probably view it as somewhat unreasonable and don't want to encourage players to make completely intransigent demands that will make a conflict between management and players run rampant and end in another lock out. Had the contract been anywhere close to fair then the PA should've, and most likely would've, caused a ruckus about this. But as it turns out they were merely "disappointed." Personally I am not surprised that the contract was rejected given how many things were ridiculous about it.

The veteran defenseman needed to anchor the 3rd pairing. Fair enough and not a bad choice really as long as he stays healthy.
-
Willing to sacrifice dignity to play in the NHL, not bad.

Any Swede will disagree with you with a passion. Might just be a national team thing though. Can't say I followed the Leafs enough to make an argument based on that.

I'd give it to Probert... the emotional factor weighs too much. But it won't be... it'll probably be held out of circulation for a long time though.

Forsberg eyeing another NHL comeback?
SweWings replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
Tbh if I was that sensitive I should really avoid all LGW threads . In any case these particular threads, Forsberg or any Avs', tend to come down to the same arguments every time. And the Forsberg thing especially is just boring now. Don't know why I always jump into these pools of mud but I guess it's just irresistible. -

So this deteriorates into character assassination. Great. Well I'm outta this thread. -

But you're a Canadian elsewhere? And you're never going to be able to convince me of him being a "diving little ***** *****." -

He's Canadian. I'm guessing that gets him some love from the Canadians on the board. Same reason why I don't dislike Forsberg. -
A small contract for a couple of years to make sure he's the real deal and then award him with a bigger contract down the line.
-
Lindstrom, really? And Erickson... but that's less important.
-
Do these guys have hearings coming up or what? Can't imagine a guy like Ryan not getting a contract. Does Anaheim tend to be up close to the cap roof or what, because right now they have a lot of room.

What Current NHL Players are Locks for the Hall of Fame?
SweWings replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
A few good seasons for me is what, 80-70-80 points in consecutive years or something. Lindros was crazy back in the day. I'm not saying he should be in the Hall but come on, give some credit where credit is due... -

Florida is a nice choice that way. Nice weather no matter what, lot's of people with rickety bodies for him to compare stories with and plenty of other entertainment like Miami Heat and Tampa Bay Lightning -
Z, Lids and Dats. No goalie.

Like I said... go live on a beach somewhere. -
Oh if they could make this work then I'll have great hopes for next season.
-
Yeah that seems fine.
-
Not surprised at all that he's sticking around. If he wanted to coach he'd likely have started as an assistant for a year or so with the Griffins. This should work out just fine for now. A relaxed year or two and then he can get down to business! Or coaching!

Forsberg eyeing another NHL comeback?

Every year... at the end of every summer... this crap keeps popping up. I love the way he played and what he's done for Swedish ice hockey but... just retire... go live on a beach somewhere warm... GO AWAY! -
I am so saving all of these. Thank you thank you thank you
