Sigh. For that amount of money and the contract length, I'm happy if he scores his 15 goals. I don't see why people are bitching so much about this guy. He's not the next superstar and he doesn't have to be. And I'd rather sign him now and have the money to overspend on one of the big guns becoming FAs next year than have spent it on a guy like Smyth.

Agreed. Mursak seems really cool. Ryno I hope comes over because his physical playing style can't be developed in Sweden. Also he's been jumping around between clubs and could use some stability within one organization for a year or two.

Ryno has got great potential but needs to come over to the NHL to develop properly. I truly hope he'll at the very least play for the Griffins next year. Overall though most of our prospects have great talent but they need to start working harder if they want to become NHL regulars...

If Forsberg decides to play it will quite probably be for short and quite cheap. A 1 year contract with incentives with Detroit would probably sound quite appealing to him. On the other hand I hope we wait and go after a premier goalscorer like Hossa or Heatley next year...

Smolinski and O'Neill sound interesting. If Forsberg is healthy he might actually he sign to a cheap 1-year contract for a competitive club like Detroit. Whatever happens I hope we don't sign any of the remaining people to long term contracts. Next years UFAs are way better than this years...

I'd rather we don't go crazy this year and wait until next years UFAs...Some really crazy players will be available then...Altho cuz of the cap we won't be able to get any of them...

I see them needing people to replace Drury and Briere...Smyth doesn't really fit the profile. Who knows they might even pick up Lang

I can definitely say I'm happier having Rafalski than having Smyth...Hopefully we can get both though - haven't heard anything definite on Ryan yet...

Not really surprised. Buffalo was out of the running early on. No way did they have the money to spend on them like the Flyers and Rangers did...

I'm not anywhere near disappointed. Our defense is better than it was with Schneider. Not a knock on Matt cuz he was great but Rafalski is definitely better. Hasek is being funny and I don't know what's going on with him. I think Bert is gonna wait a bit, if the Wings can give him a decent contract then he'll likely jump on it. Markov I'm not sure about at all but it seems quite likely he'll leave...

Stefan Liv has apparently signed a 3-year contract with the Swedish club HV71 (his old club). This according to a Swedish newspaper (Aftonbladet) so let's wait for confirmation. Aftonbladet does have Swedens best sports coverage and the journalist posting the news is quite reliable but I'd rather have it posted somewhere else as well...

The Kings have a LOT of money to spend...Difficult to match any offer they make. I guess you could be a pain to them anyway.

Well Drury will probably be resigned by the Sabres so the bidding war for Briere will quite likely be crazy. Everyone will want a piece of him.
