I truly appreciate your optimism on a morning like this. I really hope you're right.

Well, this to me is the worst that any Pitt fan has done during this series. Of course Mick rolled with it, but this is just blasphemous. How could you interrrupt Mick? If it was just Bernie I probably wouldn't care, he just has highlights. But to Mickey Redmond?!?!?!? http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...8125/&imw=Y

Man the Pens board is just as bad as their coach...

Actually, I wasn't whining at all. Just pointing out the facts. It makes no difference to me how much fans whine about calls or non-calls. I just found it very surprising since it's a town that is knowledgeable about hockey. It's the type of thing you'd expect from So-Cal. -

Did you hear their crowd last night? For a city that knows it's hockey, they sure let out a lot of whines any time a Wing came close or knocked down a Pen and no call was made. -
I couldn't have said it better myself. Great post! We saw what is probably the best Pit has last night. Ended a one goal game, and we had plenty of chances to tie it up. So be it, now we need to come out Saturday night and bring it for 60 minutes.

I saw one yesterday on my way home from work. In the parking lot of a gas station on the corner of Inkster and Joy Rd.

What do you guys think? Will Kenny bring up the disallowed goal? http://www.nhl.com/radio/nhl_hour.html
-
I couldn't agree more. As some one that used to work in radio, this is killing me. This is some of the worst radio I've ever heard.
-
Of course I can't back that up, just the homer in me letting out a little frustration.
-
Well, the reason I just read on NHL.com that Sutherland gave Babcock, is that "his (Holmstrom's) butt was in the blue". There is no way they make that call on anybody else in the league.
-
You're right, you don't have to actually be in the crease. But Homer didn't make contact with Turco. The goal should have counted. Unless screening the goalie is now a reason to disallow a goal.

I didn't see this posted any where else. Theordore confirmed for Game 3. http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...6/1053/SPORTS05

Everyone is being very "un-Dude"

I can't stand the PA announcer. He sounds like he belongs in the booth at a strip club. That stuff works in the NBA, but I just don't find it necessary in hockey. "Coming up next on the main stage....Caaaandi!!!" "Predators gooooooal scored by...."

I couldn't have said it better myself. We played a 1-2-2 the last 11 minutes, zero forechecking, giving them 100 feet of ice to gain momentum and come plowing into our zone. We needed to play like we were down by 1, instead of sitting back and allowing them to get into our zone uncontested. We didn't have that killer instinct to put them away last night. It was a horrible loss that I don't blame on Dom. We had our chances, and didn't capitalize. This better be the wake up call we needed. The Wings better come out determined to bury them in Game 4. We are a much better team than we showed last night.

I love watching Babcock give interviews. He always seems so angry!

That is too bad. Kopecky has not been a huge driving force on this team, but he has come a very long way in the last 81 games. And the biggest key to this, as Kenny said, is that we're losing our depth up front. However, I was impressed with what I saw from Abdelkader last night. Not sure if he'll really be able to bring that every night during what is hopefully a long playoff run, but we may just have to wait and see.
-
I do think we are physical enough to win it. But I think the key is being physical, and being smart. You just can't spend 20 minutes a game killing penalties and expect to win in the playoffs. We've typically been very good at not taking bad penalties, but I feel like this year has been worse than last, you just never know what will make the refs' hands fly up in the air. If we can control the pace with our puck possession, and play physical, taking the other team off their game and forcing them to take bad penalties, I think we have a great chance at bringing the Cup back to the D.

Matt, you got me for about 15 minutes. I was sitting at my desk just fuming. Then realized what day it was. Nicely done!
-
Has there been an update on Homer? Is this a sports hernia for sure, or no? I agree that Franzen has stepped up in a big way. But I would still like to have BOTH of them in the lineup. It's all too easy to shut down one line in the playoffs.
-
I agree, I would do just about anything to get this on DVD. I had it saved on my DVR for months, I must have watched it 20 times, then the DVR crashed, and everything on it got erased.
-
That's why he should also win the Hart.
-
I have to admit, I kinda like that we've finally dropped out of the number one spot in all of the power rankings. I'm much more comfortable going in to the playoffs with everyone expecting us to lose.
-
You're absolutely right. This almost reminds me of Game 5 Western Conference Finals, with 1:47 to go in the 3rd of a one goal game. Remember that, an imaginary interference call. That was simply disgraceful to have such a good game ruined by horribly officiating. I'm fine with losing a game, that happens, but it should never be decided by the refs.
-
There are a lot worse problems we could have going into the playoffs. Frankly, I don't care who starts, as long as we're still playing in June.
