I've watched every regular season game from start to finish this year like most of you and this is by far the most exciting, intense, emotional game I have seen, period.

Geez, the Montreal contingency in Ottawa even makes some of our most Wing fan filled away games (Phoenix, Chicago, etc) look small. That can't be too much fun for the home team, espcially the way the Sens have been playing lately.

I haven't been this excited for a regular season game all year and that includes the two previous games against the Sharks, let's go get 'em boys!

I'm rather annoyed that I can't get the FSN Detroit feed, but at least they are letting us see the CSN-Bay Area feed in high definition. I don't mind the SJ announcing team usually. I live in a high rise apartment building in Chicago so I can't have a dish which means i'm always at the mercy of dreaded Comcast cable and what they choose to give us in regards to CenterIce. Anyways, this is what it's all about tonight folks, LET'S GO WINGS!!!!!

Gordie Howe's stats at age 40 (Shannahan's age in a couple days).... 1968-1969 season with the Wings: 76 GP, 44 goals, 59 assists, 103 points. Definitely nothing "tarnishing" about those numbers at all, especially on a non-playoff bound team.

Does anyone actually have any credible evidence that either a.) we are getting a new arena or b.) that the Joe is going to undergo major renovations? With the economic situation being what it is in Detroit right now I doubt we will see any progress on this front for several more years.

I have a feeling this thread is going to die an untimely death (no offense to the starter as it's certainly a relevant topic) because most of us hardcore fans could really give a rats ass about this stupid game. Frankly, i'd rather see our best players rest and not risk any type of injury. As has been posted many times already, who won the Stanley Cup again? Thanks, that's what I thought.

Folks I rarely ***** about penalties and have come to accept the new NHL for what it is, but that call on Lilja was the most absurd thing I have seen in years. I want to slap McCreary with a wet noodle after that one give me break! -
Ok people we've seen about 30 minutes of Chris Chelios on the ice so far this season, has he really been that terrible? I thought he looked pretty decent last night. I love how he antagonizes and mixes it up with the other team, we are missing that element sometimes on this team. I know he should retire, but has he really been that bad so far, discuss....

Yeah but Shoreline as I posted in the GDT, it's fair because of Strader's massive Detroit favortism when doing NBC / VS games. Hey by the way how's the weather in Bay Area today? I just moved here (Chicago) after living in SF for three years. I miss it every friggin day man......

I am not suprised about this at all, once Doc realized Crosby wasn't playing in this game he cried himself hoarse. Dave Strader is the best guy to do this game other than Ken Daniels of course.

So it looks like Doc Emerick's voice is messed up so Dave Strader is doing play by play for NBC and Ed Olczyk on color commentary. That seems fair to me because Strader still loves the Wings and it's always very obvious when he does nationally televised games that he's rooting for Detroit. This will be a nice counterbalance to Ed Olczyk who I don't mind but always is clearly rooting for Chicago. Does anyone know if Pierre McLoser is going to be suspended from a cable above the ice? -

Another game with no FSN Detroit feed available outside the Michigan area, let's hope the Avs announcers aren't as bad as the Nashville idiots from last night. On the plus side, it looks like we get the pre/post game shows. Why can't they give us this on the FSN broadcasts?
