Well I just moved to Chicago after living in the Bay Area and the standard def NHLCenterIce quality also sucks here. I was noticing the same audio issues (crackling in the left channel) throughout the game as well. I wish these issues were limited in scope but they appear to be nationwide on many systems.

I've got it in Chicago on Comcast Channel 234 listed as NHLHD part of the sports entertainment package. Very little programming actually in high definition on there so far. Current NHL network game broadcasts and reruns of some recent games (last 2-3 years) are sometimes in HD and of course all Hockey Night in Canada programming is high def which looks very nice (Wings game last Sat night). As far as the "select HD games" that are supposed to be offered with CenterIce on a dedicated HD channel, I have been told they simply don't have the bandwidth in Chicago right now but it should be in place by next season (hey, thanks a lot Comcast!).

I 100% agree with this sentiment. McCarty & Maltby, give me a break. I want Helm and Leino. I'm also having a real hard time understanding why Lilja and Lebda are in this lineup and Kyle Quincey isnt. I mean s*** we RE-SIGNED Lilja and we let Quincey go?

This game could get out of hand very quickly unless the Wings get it in gear.

I take back my comments from earlier, these announcers are terrible. And the director is terrible as well. The guy never played hockey. The angles, timing and cutting is just off. I always take the entire production of FSN Detroit games for granted.

I wonder if this whole "FSN Plus" thing is why i'm not getting the usual dual feed on CenterIce (I have Comcast) although I must admit the Anaheim announcers are just blowing the Red Wings so far. They even ran a promo before the game talking about how great we are. Yes, annoying and pointless...

I second the mancrush. The guy brings insane speed and intensity every single shift. We absolutely need him on the roster and i've been saying it consistently since last season. After every single game he plays there is always heaps of praise from just about everyone on this board. I can't bring myself to say "Maltby sits, Helm plays" but you bet I want this guy on our team.

I totally agree with this. As much as we all love Maltby and Chelios, can we honestly say it is better having them in the lineup than say Darren Helm or Kyle Quincey (we lost our chance on this one). I don't think so. I give Shanny a lot of credit for stepping aside gracefully.
