Agreed. The Simon stomp was more severe. However, the fact that we are even talking about another stomping incident in the same season bodes for a long suspension. Pronger doesn't have anything close to the history that Simon does, I think that worked in Pronger's favor here. He should have gotten more than 8 games. I think Simon has cause for a lawsuit.

Yashin might miss the NHL. But if he were in the NHL, he'd miss the $$ he is getting now.

It's in order drafted.

Boyes to Datsyuk? I think that is a horrid comparison. I think a more fitting comparison would be Kovalchuk to Datsyuk. Kovalchuk is the modern day Bure. Wicked fast, offensive marvel, average at best defensively, and someone who his teammates benefit from playing with, but doesn't necessarily make them better. He needs the puck to be effective. Datsyuk is the modern day Fedoov. Extremely talented at both ends of the ice, and a player that makes his teammates better. He is great without the puck.

The original video I saw didn't show anything. However this new video clearly shows Pronger stomping on the calf area of Kessler. However, the feet of Pronger are tangled up in Kesslers skates, as Kesser is trying to trip Pronger. What Pronger did was provocted, that is where it differs from what Simon did. It doesn't make the deed any less harmful, or suspendable. But I do think it will greatly reduce the time Pronger gets. 10 games is expected, I say he gets no more than 13. 30 would be too much, as he doesn't have anything near the recent history that Simon did when he stomped his way back into Campbell's office.

Seriously, you can't see a clear stomp. But let's just say you can. You still can't say that Pronger stomped on the ice, a stick, a leg, ect. The camera view doesn't show any of that. Furthermore, look at the reaction, or lack thereof from Kessler. He doesn't instantly grab his leg in pain, he doesn't get up and go after Pronger. It wasn't until after the game that Kessler said or did anything.

I would agree that PS3 has much more capability than the 360, however as a total package (games available, cost, playability) the 360 takes the edge. In 3 years, when games, and tv's have caught up to the PS3's abilities, it will be more worthwhile purchase.

What? Because I see things without the "I hate Pronger" lenses?

Seriously folks, the replay doesn't show much of anything, and what it does show is certainly not a suspendable action. If it were, Pronger would have been suspended. The suspension wouldn't have been nearly as long as Simon's 30 games, but a suspension would have been handed down nonetheless.

So what defense do you want starting the playoffs? I'll take the Ducks corp, hands down. I think Detroit's d corp benefits from a more sound defensive team, and a more efficent system.

My bad, it was . Ovie looks like he just took a sucker punch to the twins.

Ovechkin love to score. He loves when his team scores. He loves to play hockey. He is a very refreshing athlete. In a era where you have a-holes like Barry Bonds (the whole steroid argument aside), Allen Iverson, Koby Bryant, and T.O., to see a guy wear his heart on his sleeve EVERY shift makes you realize there are guys out there who still love what they do. Besides, Ovechkin is just as animate when something bad happens. Anyone else remember his reaction the Semin scoring in his own net, and all but ending the Caps playoff hopes? He is a true leader. All skills aside, he is the type of player you want on your team, no questions asked.

Agreed. It's tough to imagine the Ducks D being any better. I think the biggest difference between the Wings and Ducks d corps is the lack of physicality in Detroits corp. Blah blah blah. The Wings don't have anyone as tough as Beauchemin, much more the less Pronger. Add in the fact that Scotty and Matty both play a rougher style than anyone outside of Kronwall, and it shows you just how much of a beating the Ducks d places on opposing teams.

Sorry, I should have clarified, during preseason. The best photographic proof of this is HERE, look at "Photos of the week (Sept. 24)" the one with Hank sitting on the bench shows it the best.

He only got suspended for 1 game because he failed to seriously injure Sammy. Has he seriously injured Sammy, he would have gotten off scott-free.

YES! Although, I think every team should have 2 or 3 guys mic'd up every night. I love hearing that stuff.

Your team has been officially eliminated

Wait a minute. How could a loss by L.A. or a Vancouver win effect Tampa Bay at all? Not only does neither team play TB, neither L.A. nor Vancouver plays an EC team. Did you mean L.A.? In such case, L.A. could be out tonight if the lose to Vancouver. -
Your buddy is wrong. Listen next time (I know it will be a while) the Wings trade for someone, or call someone up from GR. They usually throw a tidbit about the jersey's in. Boyer and co. take care off all the mending of the jerseys. RBK supplies 6 sets of jerseys to each team periodically throughout the season. If you look carefully, you will notice that some teams sew each individual letter on the back of the jersey, while some (like the Wings) sew a nameplate on. Also take notice to the next Rangers game you see. I haven't watched any in a month or so, but as of about a month ago, they were modifying their jerseys. The part that hangs down in the front and the back is/was sewn up so that the jersey is an even length all the way around instead of having a dip in the front and back.

Not I. I still hate Crosby, always will.

Practice jerseys and socks is a good question. They usually have a couple different sets. Each line usually wears a different color, and d also wear a different color. As far as how many of each, I have no idea. The Wings keep one extra jersey for each rostered player on hand, for both home and away. As I said before, they go through at least 6 of each. Small repairs are made by the equipment manager, and the stitching of the names and numbers is left up to each individual team. I believe the Wings do it themselves. I know for the preseason jerseys they have used the same outside company for years.
-
1. They go through 6 sets of game jerseys each year. Playoffs are dependent on how far they go. They do get new jersery's, I believe one set for rounds 1-3, and 1 for the SCF. 2. RBK makes the jerseys. EDIT: 6 sets meaning 12 total, 6 home, 6 away.

I think it has to do more with the individual (Orr, Neely, or Yzerman for instance) than what Grapes says. It's the way those guys played the game that instills the passion for them that will burn in fans hearts for years to come.

Riberio - 5'11" 178 Parise - 5'11" 190 That's right where the twins would fit in, size wise.

So Derian Hatcher in his prime wasn't as good as Lebda?
