It wasn't released in all areas at the same time- nor will i tbe the same channel number. Rest assured, as long as you have the sports tier, you will have it.

Dür Fürher is not pleased.

They were having some tech difficulties with the interface between the top of screen clock/penalty clock so thay just inserted a camera shot of the period time remaining. As they played in the Pacific time zone last night the puck dropped at 7:45 local time, which was 10:45 in Michigan.

Ummmm does that say "To Phil with Kisses?" So Phil, how about them Red Wings?

Don't forget that Kirk Maltby scored 50 goals in juniors. The guys that produce big numbers at that level don't usually end up producing big numbers in the NHL. Don' worry 'bout it.

Howard and Ozzie next season. I think that we really have to leave it up to the brain trust on whether Howard's season is good in GR or not. The 2 games I have seen him play in GR the defense was leaving him hanging out to dry way to often. You expect a goalie to come up with game saving saves- but not every time the puck is in his zone. I'm more worried about the future of the Wings defense than I am of the goaltending at this point.

Best and worst Wings decisions in the last 10 years.

I think that we may just find out soon that Grigorenko being called up was one of the worst decisions. I hope not, but after seeing him on Saturday night playing, I am not too excited. -
Why the heck are the "C" and the "A"s on the wrong

With the Canadian dollar being where it is, you should be buying them for us! -
I loved seeing Downey out there going after McClaren after all the BS that he was pulling out there. He was going after Hank all night and the hit he put on Drake was over the top, to say the least. BUT I can't agree with the bolded statement above in the part that I don't think that the guys that have been out there "bring nothing to the team." Last night 2 of those "jobbers" as you put it were involved in the outcome of the game. Ellis scored the GWG (yes it was a fluke goal), and Kopay was on the ice when it happened and was working hard along the boards. In fact, I thought that the Ellis play loast night was partially as a result of Kopay's hard work just up the boards a little ways from there. The defenseman on Ellis was forced to try and play it differently because he was right there on top of the play. Oh, and thank God that Krinwall finally got a goal last night.

Be nice, Mrs. Murphy.

OK so this is a weird question, but was anyone else here absolutely freaked out by the appearance of new hair on Larry Murphy's head? It isn't even the same color it was last year, and there is definitely more of it. Here is a link to his bio. The picture is from last season: http://msn.foxsports.com/id/1531065#lmurphy I am hoping that someone has the game recorded and can get a screen cap of Murph when he was between the benches. Spooky.

As it stands now there really isn't anyone that I would bring up. I would split up D and Z. Moce Flip up with Datsyuk and have Z center a line with Cleary and Sammy if he isn't injured, or Franzen when he has recovered, or Hudler if all else fails on the other side. The new guys need to either step up or step out of the way. I think Babs has done them a disservice by not sticking with his original intention of having D and Z separated. They've got to play sometime!

No points, no PIMs, just a +1 in 3 games. I will give a more detailed report after Saturday's home opener.

OsGod would say something like, "why would moneybag$ want to $pend and dollar$ to give the boy$ a day off?" Sirdrake would say, "what's to stop Chris Chelios from carrying the whole team on his back all the way to Detroit on a hang glider?"

Maybe the sky IS falling. But I don't think that this short way into the season is really time to panic. Bringing up Grigs is not the answer. The guy has been invisible so far for the Griffins. 3 games 0 points and a +1. This season is starting to be the season that everyone thought last season was going to be. I think that we've been spoiled for so long that it hurts more when things like this happen. s***, now I'm typing like the guy with Bill Clement ias his avatar!

10/12 GDT: Chicago Blackhawks 3, Red Wings 2
Mickeyisms Rule! replied to aflac9262's topic in General
SOme of you are starting to sound like Leafs fans. Every loss means we are doomed and need to clean out the entire team and get new players. Chill. We are 3-1-1. Out of a possible 10 points we have 7. If you carry that kind of success all the way through the end of the season (164 possible points) that would give us 114-115 points. Last year we finished with 113. Re-freaking-lax. -

Actually, won't he just arch his back and surround the puck thereby not allowing other players to touch it? I still chuckle at that visual. -

I see all of these complaints that we don't have enough North American talent in the organization. You know what? That's what happens when you consistently are drafting late (or last) in the first round and late in all other rounds after the fact. Let's face it, scouting North American talent is easy. You don't have to spend a lot of money to travel, and there are plenty of people willing to give you some insight on one guy or the other. Scouting in Europe is not so easy, but the Wings have been forced to do it, simply due to their own success in the last 15 or so years. Why take a possible 3rd or 4th line forward in the second round when you can get a potential 1st or seond liner from Sweden? Why take a throw-away pick at number 261 when Henrik Zetterburg is available? Is it because they have funny names? Maybe they should change them to sound more North American like the Chinese employees of my company do. On a brighter note for all of you fans of "good Canadian boys," as Don Cherry loves to say, we took 4 Canadians and one Swede this year.
