Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted March 18, 2007 The Wings remaining games. Assuming that the Wings do lose the Game tonight (currently down 2) I am going to make some assumptions with these games to see if we can come back and win the division now down a point. Tue Mar 20, 2007 AWAY Flames 9:00 PM ET L Thu Mar 22, 2007 HOME Blue Jackets 7:30 PM ET W Sat Mar 24, 2007 HOME Blues 2:00 PM ET W Mon Mar 26, 2007 HOME Ducks 7:00 PM ET L Thu Mar 29, 2007 AWAY Predators 8:00 PM ET L Fri Mar 30, 2007 HOME Stars 7:30 PM ET W April Sun Apr 1, 2007 AWAY Blue Jackets 12:30 PM ET W Tue Apr 3, 2007 HOME Blue Jackets 7:30 PM ET W Thu Apr 5, 2007 AWAY Blackhawks 8:30 PM ET W Sat Apr 7, 2007 HOME Blackhawks 1:00 PM ET W 14 more points for Detroit. The Jerks (I mean Nashville) Wed Mar 21, 2007 AWAY Canucks 10:00 PM ET L Thu Mar 22, 2007 AWAY Flames 9:00 PM ET W Sat Mar 24, 2007 AWAY Oilers 10:00 PM ET W Tue Mar 27, 2007 HOME Oilers 8:00 PM ET W Thu Mar 29, 2007 HOME Red Wings 8:00 PM ET W Sat Mar 31, 2007 HOME Stars 8:00 PM ET L April Tue Apr 3, 2007 HOME Blackhawks 8:00 PM ET W Thu Apr 5, 2007 HOME Blues 8:00 PM ET W Sat Apr 7, 2007 AWAY Avalanche 9:00 PM ET L 12 more points for Nashville. These are just predictions basied on the strength of the opponents and the away and home records, but as you can see even with Nashville winning the next game against us we would win the division by one point. I am going to hope we get stronger and this plays out in a postive way, I just don't want any banners to be raised to the rafters in Nashville. Ever.
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted March 18, 2007 (edited) I just don't want any banners to be raised to the rafters in Nashville. Ever. Hahaha, here's a little prediction- Nashville WILL end up with something hanging from their rafters. Regardless of what happens this season- I just don't see a team with that much talent self-destructing and falling back into their early franchise form. SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted March 18, 2007 I certainly wouldn't mind seeing the Wings win the division and having a better chance at home-ice advantage being a #1/#2 seed (remember Anaheim is steamrolling everybody lately, they could be #1) vs. a #4, but Babcock said it perfectly in a recent interview. All the teams in the WC that will be in the playoffs in all likelihood or extremely good. Placement/winning the division isn't as important to me as having everybody healthy going into the playoffs and having some kind of winning streak going into whoever they play in the 1st round. Couldn't agree more that I don't think picking your poison will help. I did want to point out that I had the Wings losing this game to Calgary. In this home strech prediction as they have tonight, yet it still doesn't rule out first overall. Two losses in a row does not sink the team yet. Get back quick Zetter and Cleary. Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted March 23, 2007 Unless the flames beat Nashville, tonights loss to Columbus cost us the division based on this projection by me. Serriously who didn't think 91 was going to beat us as soon as that shootout started. Unless the flames beat Nashville, tonights loss to Columbus cost us the division based on this projection by me. Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted March 27, 2007 Good news, our win against the Ducks has countered the BS win by the Blues in the shootout. We are back on track, we just need to get at least a point in the Nashville game. Of course if we beat them I will breath easier.

I am not happy we lost to St Louis and Columbus. So I revised the picks and I have gaining two more wins then them, and being two back this would bring us to a tie in wins, and the division. Bottom line is with a game in hand and a tie with the tie brakers going to them as of now, we simply have to win one more game then they do, and add another win or OTL for every two OTL they get. Sigh I hate three points, it muddles everything up. I put it on the stars, if they manage to beat us and lose to Nashville we are more or less done. If it goes the other way Nashville is more or less done. I just want the season to be done.
Guest Tunbo Batman Report post Posted March 30, 2007 so do i. but those last 4 games might be our best shot at the division/conference/league
Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted March 31, 2007 Well the Wings really want to lose this top spot. Blowing the 3-0 lead against Dallas means they have to win out now. What a disapointing game, oh well at least there are no shootouts in the Playoffs. If Dallas screws us over tomarrow, I think we lost the fight to keep them from getting any satisfaction in Nashville.
glasgowcelticwing 18 Report post Posted March 31, 2007 If we start loosing all our games we can blame the losses on injuries just like the preds do.
Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted April 1, 2007 Oh that is for sure. We are not looking so hot injury wise though. Our forwards are getting healthy, but our defense is getting beat up. I don't know if we have the depth now that Kronner is out. One more Dman out and we might be sunk. Three games left and 6 points we could use.
Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted April 4, 2007 The Wings just need to gain one more point to put Nashville away, and unless Chicago breaks the tie very soon they won't get it tonight.... I would like to point out, 5 more goals are needed for 250 on the year, and if we don't let in 6 in the last two games we will be sub 200 goals allowed. Very good year, especally considering all the doom and gloom from the folks on these boards preseason.
Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted April 4, 2007 Alright, one more point to gain on Nashville. Chicago downed them in the shootout. God I hate the shootout.
