Tigers are the new Wings?

Merchandise sales are great for the Tigers because the Tigers have the best Logo in Detroit. The Olde English D is classy and subtle, and the Navy and White is the easiest to wear out. I love and want to wear Red Wings shirts and hats, but everything is bright red and it can get kind of gaudy. Same goes for the royal blue and red for the Pistons and the Honolulu blue and silver for the Lions. I can rock my olde english D hat with about anything, I'll always have a couple of them on hand at my place with different shades of blue due to wear and fade.

That said, I agree with the main heirarchy that people have been saying.

Lions

Tigers

Pistons

Wings

That's not my personal taste, but for many Detroiters it is. And this doesn't make us bandwagon jumpers either. The Lions sell out every game, and are covered more than any other sport in Detroit. It's the success of the NFL that makes it this way. The Tigers don't have any competition in the summer because they are the only ones playing. Hockey and basketball compete with each other because they have the same season, so naturally they'll split coverage. The Wings are fine, and they're always #1 with me.

Ya except Baseball is boring and Hockey is exciting to watch. I can't hardly watch an inning of Baseball on tv but I hardly ever miss a hockey game!

That is my opinion, but I don't suggest you ignore the Tigers.

I just wonder where all these "Tigers fans" were the past 12 years.

Anyone who thinks that we care about all the teams has a weird definition of care. Obviously the true Detroit fan wants all the teams to win their respective Championships. Though they don't follow the team until they are on the verge of winning it all.

I consider that bandwagon fans and I think it a disgrace. Futhermore when three teams have a shot at winning, and you get excited for one 8 months before they award the thing, give subpar attention to the other as they wrap the season up, and pay lip service to the third as they enter the playoffs, then something is wrong.

Great point Majsheppard. No one was a Piston fan during the time when they sucked then they got all good and boom all those bandwagon fans came on.

Now only if they can change some of the rules in Basketball to make it exciting and not boring so I can start watching it again like I did when I was a kid.
