Opie 308 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 sundin in his prime was ten times the player naslund was Thank you!!!! I was going to have to type now I don't. Not only was Sundin's prime better, his career will be far above that of Naslund, you are trying to compare a future HOFer in Sundin to a decent player in this era in Naslund. It is too bad that Sundin is loyal to a fault, he should walk away from the Leafs and find his cup. Like Bourque did! I am usually a huge advocate for guys spending their career with the same team, however, if the team does nothing to build a winner around you and you have given them heart and soul, it is time to walk. If the wings had done the same to Yzerman or Lidstrom I would sadly have to say the same thing, thankfully the team has built a winner around those two! OkThatSmells 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 I dont care who are you are....getting all three stars is stupid Yeah especially considering he was like the 6th best player on the ice. Shouldn't he have broken the goal scoring record like... last year? He took his time. Enough bashing. Go Sundin! He's a gun player.

MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 Also of note in this game was that Sundin had been credited with an assist earlier in the game which gave him the points record, but the problem was that he never actually touched the puck. So after the standing ovation, Sundin skated over to the linesman and told them that he never touched the puck and shouldn't have had an assist, so they eventually did take it away from him. He then scored mere minutes after it was announced that the assist had been taken away.
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted October 13, 2007 Mats Sundin had only one point in the Leafs 8-1 win over the Islanders tonight, but it was a big one. Sundin scored the 7th goal, which gave him the Leafs all-time record for career goals (390) and points (917), eclipsing Darryl Sittler for both records. He was named all three stars of the game. Congrats Mats. Hopefully you'll get a cup at some point to cap off a fantastic career (maybe in a management role?).
