rougerman 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2007 I always love to see Barry Melrose disgustedly talk about the Red Wings doing so great, especially earlier in the season when he had to point out that they were playing the best hockey in the NHL. Playoffs are the best though, when he repeatedly picks against them and then doesn't sleep at night because the next day he'll have to say the Wings won again. Grind_Lines_#1_Fan 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 What does he honestly have against the Wings? A couple reasons could be, I think he was a Maple Leafs fan growing up. Another could be he didn't get much of a chance to play here and maybe just maybe he thinks he should have had a shot to coach here, because of how he coached at Adirondack. By absolutely no means am I saying that I like Barry Melrose, but I think he is allowed to hate the Red Wings, if he so chooses to.
Creasemonkey 30 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 Now that NHL Network is on DirecTV, I avoid ESPN at all costs. I don't have to sit through 42 minutes of basketball highlights to see 20 seconds worth of NHL.

He's still carrying the torch against the Wings because they hired Scotty Bowman and not himself. Who would you hire? Melrose ended up in LA so he got a job, but he allows his emotions to determine his opinion and not good ol common sense. Friggin idiot are the words that come to mind when I see him. That was the point I was trying to get at but I was too young so I had to go by my Dad who can't stand Melrose so I couldn't ask him....lol Edited December 1, 2007 by Grind_Lines_#1_Fan
