Weirdest game I think I've ever seen

Ok, so I think last nights game against the Panthers (12-15-07) has got to be one of the weirdest games I've ever seen. I mean in a game that ended in a 5-2 win with us being the only team that scored, how do you explain that to somebody? How do you explain to somebody, that both teams had points but only one team scored any goals? As far as I'm concerned Osgood got a shutout (on the other team at any rate). And when was the last time you saw two penatly shots in one game? For the same team no less. Even though I would have to say that I think Pavs penalty shot was kind of a weak call, I mean he was in the slot when he was hooked and all, but haven't we all seen worse that was only called as a regular penalty? Or worse, not called at all? But what the heck, we'll take it (even though he missed).

I think, however, that the weirdest thing about the whole thing is that Lidstrom was one of the players that got one of Florida's goals. Accidents happen and I don't hold it against either of them, but it is almost unheard of to see Lids make a mistake like that.

What are your thoughts?

Definately a strange one. The Datsyuk penalty shot should have never been called, its was no different than any other hook on a player. Datsyuk needs to get back to dangling, he has done that same sell-the-backhand-stuff-the-forehand move just about everytime this season. You can't argue with Filppula's penalty shot, Vokoun threw the stick. Almost good Flip cashed in and Pav didn't, as Flips was earned, Pavs wasn't.

As far as two own-goals off of the two Norris trophy winners in the games, thats just terribly s***ty luck. Bummer Osgood didn't get a shutout and it hurt his GAA, but he's a stand up guy who is prolly the best at shaking that stuff off, and he got the W and got to crack on Cheli after the game, so no harm , no foul I guess.

Wierd game, definately.

Definitely strange. If it were in a movie, I'd think the writer was an idiot for insulting my intelligence expecting me to believe that all that could possibly happen in one game.

Thats when you know things are going good, even a crazy string of oddities can't keep you from winning.

Regardless if the Panters "players" didn't score, they still did what it takes to get the puck in net. So, I disagree, anyway that you want to look at it, Ozzie didn't have a shutout.

Wings fan's should know all to well.... those are the garbage type goals it takes to win (or in our case, lose) playoff games.

But we did play well and we did deserve the win.
