Says all the brass sat down and at no point will they trade for a rent-a-player a la Sundin unless a contract extension can be worked out first. After what they saw happen to other teams they will not give up prospects and or picks and have that player sign back with their original team. I figure most people kinda knew this already but since it came straight from Jim D it might make people think again about trade posts. DreamsofHope 2 Report post Posted February 8, 2008 This seems consistant with what Ken Holland has said on the interview just posted on MLIVE. Says they are looking for depth players, and that's it. Doesn't seem like much will shape up before the deadline. Things could always change and I could always be wrong, but that seems to be the conclusion I am drawing from the info I've seen.
