I like the name myself...and his teammates call him that as well, so if they do I don't see why we can't. Yep, apparently it's quite common, like calling someone named Aleksander "Sasha" instead. I asked my girlfriend (who is Russian) about it, and she said most people in his life probably call him Pasha, as Pavel is far more formal. I never heard of it before this board, but then again I don't hang out with anyone named Pavel But why is Hank called Zatta? That one I don't get.
