kylee 727 Report post Posted March 30, 2008 RedLightGoesOn, i thought that if the Red Wings and Ducks both advance past the 1st round theyd be playing one another in the 2nd round? could be mistaken though. about the sharks, i think it is important to point out that this team can be beaten the same way we did last year. you absolutely must shut down or contain Joe Thornton, Johnathan Cheechoo, and Patrick Marleau. if Mike Grier, Joe Pavelski, and Jeremy Roenick beat us, well then id conclude it just simply wasn't our year to win. as good of a 2nd half JR is having, he should not be the reason the sharks could possibly advance past the Red Wings. i dont want to sound arrogant or whatever but im just still not afraid of the Sharks yet. yeah they won a lot of games in the regular season, so what. the difference between them and the Wings is that they have yet to win the big game when it really matters: namely, Evgeni Nabokov. I concur on the Sharks.Any team with knobs like Roenick on the second line aren't that good ! I'd say Thornton has a habit of disappearing in most playoffs too I think we are deeper than them by a mile esp on defense Only thing I worry about is goaltending I can foresee a series where we're pumping 42 shots a game at Nabakov and losing 2-1 or something cause he's standing on his head Does anybody know our historical record against Nabakov in terms of wins and or his GAA against Detroit ?How does it compare to Gigure the Michelin Man? That would imply seeds 1 thru 4 would win. Anything could happen, where as the sharks could play the ducks just as likely as the wings playing the ducks.
