(Assuming Yahoo sports is correct)

Franzen has taken only 10 games to set the franchise record for playoff goals in a single playoff season. It took him only ten(!) games!

Go Mule!

Red Wings record for most goals in a series (9)

NHL record for goals in a 4 game series (9)

And he scored as many goals as the entire Avalanche team, to boot.

Is there some sort of superhuman mutant version of a mule, because if there is we need to start calling him that.

Is this really the club record for overall playoffs? I'm looking through some of the best players, and yeah, none have hit 11... Fedorov hit 10. This can't be the club record!

Oh and yeah... The all time playoff record for most goals in a playoff season is 19 set by Reggie Leach and Jari Kurri. Not sayin' anything, just throwing it out there.

Club record FOR A SERIES. Not the entire playoffs that I know of.

Just imagine if Franzen can keep this up. I'd say it's unlikely and impossible but who would've thought he'd have a multi-point games for for of the last quarter of the season and playoffs?

I'm beginning to think it is the record, no evidence I can find says it isn't.

It IS a team record for an entire playoff. Brett Hull took 23 games to tie the record. The last 2+ months he has been the MVP of the league.

KEEP IT UP!!!

It's definitely not a club record for all playoffs. Heaps of Wings would've scored more than 9.

Edit - Well, not HEAPS. I just KNOW someone will correct me with numbers.

Well, Fedorov did score more than 9 in '98 but Johan has ELEVEN for the series. Lol. My bad. The number nine was stuck in my head.

It really has been an amazing series for him though. Good on him. What a legend.

They MUST have, surely.

Where can I find this out?

The Wings were dominant when it was the original 6 days, the days where it only took 2 series to win the cup. After the expansion era, the Wings didn't really do much, and when they did do something was when (I could only find) Fedorov and Hull scored 10 in different years respectively. I'm close to positive this is the record.

Previous record was 10 for an entire playoff year

Set by Klima in 12 games in '88

Tied by Fedorov in 22 games in '98

Tied by Hull in 23 games in '02

Got this on page 124 (of 151) of the media guide.

Franzen had 9 in the series. He scored 2 goals against the Preds.

Even 9 goals in 4 games is amazing. Set a record for a 4 game series.

Even set the record for highest goal per game average in a series.

Maybe a few more records if you really want to go in depth.

Uh yeah. Thanks but I already acknowledged I was wrong and said 11 not 9. Repeition is good though.

Sorry for ever having doubted you B. I just KNEW that I'd seen players get double digits before (Sergei and Hull). Klima I do NOT remember but anyway... BAD Dog!!

Well let's just hope Franzen is remembered more than Klima. I didn't know that about Klima either, 10 goals in 12 games is impressive as well, and now no one gives a s***. Franzen's legacy is stamped in my memories, I know that. ;)
