Wings making for several years of playoff bummers.

This team has the makeup, and the ability in which we have been wait to see fror the last sevearl years. The Wings have always found themselves hitting the wall in the playoff with the hot goalie of that years playoffs. This year, Ellis had that abilty, but they over came the Preds with a hard nose style. Then they blew threw the Avs, and now. The Stars and Turco which were on a impressive run themselves, have hit the preverbal wall against the Wings. This is the team which we have been waiting to see. The team which could stop the hot team in their tracks, and show the NHL, and the fans that the Red Wings have had a changing of the guards. This new, younger team have found their own place in Red Wings tradition. Lets hope that they can bring this thing full circle and bring the cup back to Detroit.

They look awfully good, but still a long ways to go.

As I always say, let's not get cocky. We have to beat Dallas first. Don't let Dallas get the win at all. Just like with Colorado, don't let them get any breathing room.

But yeah, the atmospehre is changing. It's hard not to get excited that we're ONE WIN away from the FINALS.

It's been too damn long. And there si this feeling that all the previous years of disappointment have led up to this moment, and created this team. The Wings now have an identity that they haven't had since 2002. They are that "hard working, puck possession, balanced, deep, physical-enough to beat you" team.

We still have two teams to beat, though, and it's going to be a tough, long road still. But it's exciting nonetheless.

The Wings are destined for a first-round exit.

Can we make this a crow-eating thread please?

Sadly, all of the douchebags that said that can now jump on the bandwagon anyway.

As I always say, let's not get cocky.

I don't get it. What effect could us being cocky possibly have on the outcome of the series?

I've never understood why people say such things. "Don't get too enthusiastic." "Let's not get ahead of ourselves." Why should others react in such a way to people who want to voice what they feel are certainties?

Ill take my beating for not having confidence in this teams grit.

I do however think that adding Brad Stuart has helped this team immensly.

And the ditching of Hasek has proven to be the saving grace this post season.

All in all I am pleasantly surprised at what Ive seen in the Dallas series.

This team looks like our 98 team to me, and filling the hole in the D with Stuart was exactly what this team needed.

For the same reason you call people douchebags for airing their feelings when the team is playing bad.

I don't quite get what you mean.

I don't call people douchebags for airing their feelings; I call people douchebags when they're panicking and demanding changes after two lost regular season games. That's just ridiculous.

Well, I am excited to see the Wings play well. I was excited last season, but after being beaten in Anaheim, there is only one end result that would make me happy. Its the cup or nothing. Especially when you finish first in the NHL. When my rec league team finishes 1st in the division, its championship or bust. Anything less is a disappointment.

You mean the same Brad Stuart that was a insignificant signing by Holland at the deadline and made him the worst GM in the league!!

Sorry I had to chime in with Crymson!!

This playoff run is sweet and has only been made sweeter by the bandwagoners who jumped ship and had all the reasons in the world that the wings would be ousted in the first round, how they would meet Col and get hosed, how Holland was responsible for the demise of the team, blah blah blah blah!!
