kemosabi 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 In tempo with the lightness/positive maintenance by most people around here, I just wanna say: What a pretty goal by Johan last night! This guy doesn't miss a beat. He's got incredible hands and such a soft touch for a man of his size. I always giggle like a school girl when Franzen puts one in the back of the net. And I love at the Joe that giddy-up cowboy voice that says "Yo Hahn!" in the fashion of "Raw-hide!" whenever the Mule scores. It makes me think of that donkey at the end of The Man Show that says "Yokozuna," so I made this: And for the record, I'm not disheartened by that loss last night. It wasn't even a bad loss. We almost made a comeback! People were predicting Wings in 5 or 6. Well in order for it to go 5 or 6 games, you gotta lose one. So no complaining.
Zion 93 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 They're quoting Hans and Frans from Saturday Night Live: We want to pump... *clap* ... you up!
Firehawk 305 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 If he starts getting back to the form he was in in rounds 1 and 2 (as it appears he is), Pitt is in big trouble. He adds another full dimension to the already too dangerous offense.
LivoniaGrinder 37 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 (edited) I fell asleep before the game, but hearing that Franzen scored is awesome news today! That's what I was hoping for, seeing Mule get hot again. I've been wearing my "Feed The Mule" shirt every game day and rooting for him. It was funny, I went kayaking and camping up at the lake Tuesday and when I got there I pulled down towards the shore and there was a wild burro laying in the road. I was like "What up Johan!". I got a picture of him, then he slipped away with his buddy, who I got a pic of too. Anyway, I like that I saw that burro chilling there; like a premonition of the Mule heating up again!! I'm kind of glad we lost one; I didn't think we'd sweep this Pitt team so we got a loss out of the way and it wasn't a big lopsided score or shutout that they could build on. Also, I didn't want the Wings to get them in a 3-0 series lead since there's all this "33 year comeback" nonsense around this year and that would be s***ty to lose the cup that way, especially since the '42 Wings gave it up before. I feel a lot better going into a game 4 in Pitt now. The boys will have had a couple or 3 days to settle in on the road, Babs will be able to adjust to the environment going forward, and who knows....maybe Mule will get another signature playoff hat-trick! Hopefully Lilja and Stewie will bounce back and have an awesome game and we can get these punks on the ropes going back to Detroit. I don't like Homer being injured, but here's hoping he's okay and is in the lineup. Edited May 29, 2008 by LivoniaGrinder
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 Franzen hasn't missed a beat. Which makes me think he's truly become a legit scoring threat and will continue to be for the next few years, if not his whole career. I also liked how he scored. That's how the Wings can win this series, drive to the net, THROUGH the Pittsburgh players, use that pressure to throw them off and don't let anyone in your way stop you. I'm really thinking of getting a Franzen jersey for my next major purchase.
HkyTwn 5 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 That goal was amazing. Throughout the entire game he was controlling it and getting so many chances. It was great. Mule is wonderful.
