sdogg1m 3 Report post Posted June 3, 2008 The loss last night hurts but I am not worried, why? Last night the team came out and played like garbage for 20 minutes. Mike Babcock realized this and instead of allowing them to play through, he decided to change the lines. After that the offense was FLYING!!! Anyone else thought the game was over in the first 20 minutes? The coach made the right moves! We will be fine in game six.
Texas Wingnut 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2008 If a team is a reflection of the coach I have faith in the Wings. Other than a return by Scotty there isn't anyone that I would rather have behind the bench!!! Babs is the man - calm, cool, steady, and NOT A WHINER (insert most any other current coach). I'm glad to hear that he will most likely be signing a new contract after the SCF. :octo:
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted June 3, 2008 I loved that he changed up the lines. Its funny, cause he went back to Flip-Datsyuk-Homer, which he had used in the playoffs last year. Franzen - Hank - Sammy actually looked really good, with Cleary subbing in for both Sammy and Homer off and on. Good stuff.
Nev 1,085 Report post Posted June 3, 2008 He sure is an awesome coach, and I think he did a little bit more than just change the lines Great quotes in the post game presser too But it's the Stanley Cup playoffs. It's not supposed to be easy. It's supposed to be a battle, and obviously we're in one just have to ask yourselves how bad we want to win, and how determined we are. It's not like we didn't have every opportunity. I believe when you do good things, good things happen. Just do good things again. When I walked in and talked to Lidstrom, basically, and talked to the guys about our plan for tomorrow, basically just said: Hey, it's not easy. Keep your head up, let's get going. But they're big boys. They understand this. I love Babs. I'd hate for him to be my dad, but damn if he isn't a winner (and not a whiner, eh MT?)
