Phazon 24 Report post Posted June 17, 2008 And comments on it in swedish media: "What kind of guys I will play with, and what kind of hockey I will play will be a big decision in my future" "I will play next season" The question is where. "With the uncertainty for the future it was the right decision to sell my house (in vancouver) says naslund." "Though it might not mean I wont return here"Naslund is an UFA july 1st. http://www.hockeyexpressen.se/Nyheter/1.12...ter-och-flyttar Swedish hockeyreporter then speculates that he could go back to pittsburgh. "of course it would bee fun to play with crosby says naslund" http://www.hockeyexpressen.se/2.1588/1.120...-nya-radarparet sounds to me that naslund is 99% gone. glasgowcelticwing 18 Report post Posted June 18, 2008 I think it'd be best if Naslund went to a team like the Sabres , the Oilers or the Blues . he's still a good player and he'd still do a very good job for a team like the one's i suggested . he'd bring them experience and skill . no way's he going to the Penguins . they'll be jambed hard against the salary cap pretty soon with what they'll need to pay out to keep all their star players . Pittsburgh can have all the lazy forwards they want. Give me the hard workign second-liners.
Guest Dump-N-Thump Report post Posted June 26, 2008 I'd welcome with open arms Naslund to detroit. He may be the polar opposite of my preference of play. but i think it is something that Franz and Flipper need.. and its a real sniper.. He will loose his C, so maybe that will take off some pressure also.. But since he hinted torwards Pitts.. I have to think we'll stick it out the way we are.. But man i'd like to see Nassi on the 2nd line
Slave 31 Report post Posted June 26, 2008 he is still a decent player and while not as good as hossa would be a cheaper alternative and maybe allow for the pens to keep both the kid and malkin

Yeah, Naslund could be a good fit as a second line sniper with Mule and Filp or CLeary or a lot of the Wings. I agree with his need to not carry the C. While he can be play a major role in a teams success and provide leadership in general, I think he would welcome less spot light.

Yeah, Naslund would look good on the second pairing with Franzen, Filppula, Cleary, or Hudler. There are many options, but he would be a cheaper alternative to Hossa or Sundin. I'm sure he would fit in quite nicely around here. I like this idea.
