Hank Dats 'N Homer 81 Report post Posted July 19, 2008 i didnt see this posted yet and if it is then i apologize and please merge me. But i was just wondering if anyone knew when tickets would be going on sale. I really want to get the home opener tickets because A) we see the banner get raised and B) its against the leafs whom i love! Also i was wondering if the Winter Classic tickets will be going on sale when the rest of the season tickets go on sale. Also if i remember correctly, when buffalo and pitss did the winter classic i thought i heard something about them only allowing people who either lived in Buffalo or Pitts to purchase the tickets since it was such a big deal. I was wondering if this was going to be the same circumstances for the Winter Classic this year? Anyways, if anyone has any info i would really appreciate it! Gizmo 21 Report post Posted July 19, 2008 About the only thing that's likely certain is that the first sale of regular season tickets will be in September. The only question is "How much of the season will go on sale initially?" Most years they only put the first few months worth of games on sale at first (Oct-Dec), but they may very well use the "banner night" night game like they did the "Stevie Y Night" game and require non-season ticket holders to purchase a number of single game tickets (last time it was 10). In order to do that, they had to put all of the season on sale at one time that September. As for the Winter Classic, who knows... I don't know how it was done last time. I don't know if it'll be considered a Hawk's "home game" and they'll control the tickets, or if the NHL will give both teams equal allotments (if so, I assume season ticket holders will be priority), or if the event will be considered an "NHL" run game and it'll be a free for all on Ticketmaster. The one thing I recall about the Buffalo game is that it was one of those 60 second Ticketmaster sellouts.

Yeah i remember the Buffalo tickets selling out reall quick but you could get them on ebay up until the actual game. They only ran about 100 a ticket on ebay. Of course that was buffalo and Pitts....not the Red wings and hawks so im sure they will be harder to come by and a little more pricey...
