Opie 308 Report post Posted August 14, 2008 EVELETH, Minn. (AP)—Brett Hull and longtime New York Rangers Brian Leetch and Mike Richter are members of the 2008 class of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame. The four-member group announced Tuesday also includes Cammi Granato, the all-time scoring leader for the U.S. women’s hockey team with 343 points in 205 games. Hull, one of the leading goal scorers in NHL history with 741, recorded 1,391 points in a 20-year career that included Stanley Cup titles in Dallas and Detroit. Leetch was an 11-time All-Star in 18 NHL seasons, all but one with the Rangers. He won two Norris Trophies as the league’s best defenseman and was a Stanley Cup playoff MVP. Richter was a three-time All-Star in a 14-year career as goalie with the Rangers.
eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted August 14, 2008 You know the funny part? Mike Richter is the player of that group most likely to be left out of the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Doggy 130 Report post Posted August 14, 2008 You know the funny part? Mike Richter is the player of that group most likely to be left out of the Hockey Hall of Fame. What's so funny about that? Hull is a legend of the game. Leetch is one the best Dmen of all time and Cammi Granato was one of the best female players of all time. She's already in the IHOF. You can scratch the 'one of' from your line...When she retired, she was considered the Gretzky of women's hockey. It's just odd for a player with a decent chance at getting into the HHOF to be the least likely player to get into the HHOF in his class for his national HOF. eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted August 16, 2008 what? cammi's far more deserving than her brother, imo. Tony Granato. The only man who spent most of his prime as a first line player in the NHL who is less deserving of making the HHOF than his sister.
