I was thinking the exact same thing when I seen this. The bolts could use some D but at 2.5M I wonder if they would pick him up leaving about 480,000K from their supposed 2.98M cap space available. The Leafs are trying to move extra defencemen right now, they aren't going to take a guy like McLaren. I could see him going to Atlanta or the Islanders. Both of them need defensive help.
