SAN JOSE – The San Jose Sharks and Comcast SportsNet Bay Area announced today that they have reached an agreement to have the local blackout lifted for nine 2008-09 San Jose Sharks games that are not scheduled to be televised on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.

The move will allow those local hockey fans who subscribe to the Center Ice hockey package to view all of the Sharks 82 regular season games on television.

Is this similar to the problem I'm having? I can't get any Wings games on FSN Detroit but I can get every other program on that channel, and I didn't have a problem like this last year either.

This is with Dish Network by the way.

I can't go another game watching it on that tiny online stream...

I have noticed this as well. The Center Ice schedule now shows Home and Away games on the schedule of games to be played for the day. Hopefully this means if you are "blacked out" because of local programming restrictions, you still may be able to see the game utilizing the "Away" feed on Center Ice.

That's like the situation I'm in where the Cox Cable/Center Ice folks have a different view of what zone I'm in (either LA or Anaheim) than the local programming folks. I'm in San Diego, physically closer to Anaheim, but for some reason I'm in LA's zone and see Kings games on my local FSN. Somehow, somebody thinks I'm getting the Ducks games locally too so they black them out even though I'm not getting them (cause I'm in LA's zone). Long story short, I never get to see the Ducks vs. The Wings unless it's on Versus or NBC or something. It's really annoying to pay extra and STILL not get all your team's games!

Actually, since the Ducks won the Cup, they've been switching time between the Kings and Ducks more often on my local FSN, so I don't know what that means.

We'll see I guess,

I always hated the stupid blackout restrictions anyways, especially for Sharks games. They sell out all the ******* time. I tried to get Wings/Sharks games for 1/19/09 and it was sold out in two days. Never made sense to me why they'd black these games out.

The only team this happens to locally in the area is the Raiders, and with how much they suck it's no wonder.

i wish friggen Center Ice would at least replay the darn game. They keep swapping channels rendering my timered VCR useless. We pay good money for this darn thing!!

Yes I'm sure it's Dish Network and all the programs on the channel work except for the game.

You live in Windsor, Ontario? Kinda surprised DISH Network is available to you there in Canada (isn't Bell Expressvu available?).

I have DISH, & I purchase the Center Ice package, but then again I live in Wisconsin so I don't have any choice...So far no black-outs on any Red Wing game; nice to have the HD feed available as well (for those who may not know - cable usually doesn't have the HD feeds available on Center Ice).

Lol, it's American satellite.. only fools here use canadian satellite, but we get all the FSN channels and NHL network, NBA network.. pretty much everything. Except for any Detroit games. Even the NHL Network is saying "the program is not available in my area" for TSN! which IS canada! FSND doesn't say that though.. in fact it doesn't say anything... when the game begins it just freezes up and then goes black.
