Sykora Scores Hattrick

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

What's the point of the post you might ask? Who cares if Sykora scored a hattrick? Well, it was the first hattrick of his career, again, so what? The big deal here is that he had previously racked up 44 games in which he had scored 2 goals, making him by far the most games with scoring 2 goals with no hattrick.

You're surprised by this?

I guess I shouldn't be, I know it's early but the last two to finish the season one and two were Lemieux and Jagr, back in '95-'96. Kariya, Selanne came close, Bertuzzi, Naslund were close to doing it. Still kind of amazing.

he also sexually assaulted crosby after, but it wasnt because crosby loooved it. the pens always beat up on the s***ty eastern teams no wonder they have such inflated stats.

I wish we could beat up on some s***ty Western teams.. haha.. id like to see a seven goal win once in a while instead of every game being a one-goal game no matter who we play..

There are no s***ty western teams... and the entire southeast, NYI, Ottawa, Toronto in the east.

Dear Santa,

Yeah, its me again, could you please move the Wings to the Eastern conference so they could set statistical records. Thanks.

PS: scratch that, I would rather they didn't lose the cup every year because they run into a tougher more competent opponent in the finals, the West is fine.

Ummm, you could actually make a pretty solid argument that the Pens play in the toughest division in the league.

If you'd ever want to make such an argument of inflated stats do to competition, look to the Southeast division.

Definately still too early to tell, they haven't separated themselves that much from the pack, but if they do pull this off, it would be pretty interesting. If you think back of others teammates that have finished 1-2, the ones I can think of have been linemates (a centre and a wing). With Crosby and Malkin, they are both centres and rarely play together. They will obviously have some overlap (powerplay, or while playing together when they are trailing in the 3rd), but for the most part, their points are coming from different goals.

Im pretty sure the two times they've played the Islanders this year they really ran up the score, they prey on weak teams.

You might want to be careful as you are starting to sound a lot like those that argued that the Wings were not that great, their record is inflated due to the division they played in.
