toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted February 16, 2009 What you are referring to is probably, "being caught flat-footed" - which means you are caught standing still, feet are not moving, flat on the ice, etc. When a player you are trying to beat to puck or who you are trying to defend against is moving their feet and coming with speed, you can't simply turn and catch up, you need to be moving your feet as well.
