kozac 10 Report post Posted February 23, 2009 Remember when the Senators were pretty much the highest scoring team in the NHL a few years ago. Now they are the lowest scoring team... They still have the same core players, so how could this happen? It seems that after that SC Final something broke for them and they haven't been able to recover. Who did they lose? Don't tell me Ray Emery
Rice 42 Report post Posted February 23, 2009 They miss Chara and Redden's puck-moving abilities a lot.
P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted February 23, 2009 That's a mystery to me too as besides Chara and Redden they haven't really lost very important players. They're not lacking in skill that much. For some reason they were excited about their team and playing two years ago, but not anymore.
DEVILSWATERBOY 10 Report post Posted February 23, 2009 I do believe they lost Havlat and Hossa after that run and maybe evan Spezza
miller76 463 Report post Posted February 23, 2009 They miss Chara and Redden's puck-moving abilities a lot. Redden was good in Ottawa. But he is absolutely horrible in NY.
P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted February 23, 2009 I do believe they lost Havlat and Hossa after that run and maybe evan Spezza Havlat was in Chicago already. Hossa was already traded to Atlanta for Heatley. Spezza still plays for them.
MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted February 23, 2009 Sens sacrificed defence to keep the big-3 up front. They lost Chara, Redden, Meszaros, Preissing, Corvo. That's a lot of puck-moving talent right there that they didn't replace.
Shaman 713 Report post Posted February 23, 2009 What would happen to the wings if tomorrow they lost Raffy and Lids? Think we would have such a great offense without them on our line in the PP and ES?
P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted February 23, 2009 I never really got to know how good Meszaros, Preissing, Corvo were. I suppose they were very important to them. If Red Wings lost Lids and Raffy I'd still think the team would be in the league's top 10.
