shadowdagster 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 Hi guys, I am going to see the Wings for the first time March 20th when they play in Atlanta, GA. I have never had the opportunity to see them in person, so I wanted to make my first time special. Since I have never gone to a pro hockey game before (only watch every game on tv) im not sure where to sit for a live game. If you are lower level, is it ok to sit in the corners or should I be a section higher up to see what is going on better. Thanks for your advise in advance, I really appreciate it. GO WINGS!!!! Happy Pancake 6 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 If you can swing it, lower bowl is always awesome. I've never gotten to sit that close for a Wings game but I was in the second row for a Capitals vs. Senators game a couple years ago and the experience was amazing. Nosebleeds though are still great seats generally and you can see the whole play develop. Have fun!
egroen 384 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 (edited) If you can - lower bowl near center ice so you can watch both ends. It's kind of annoying to be lower bowl on one end or in a corner, as you never have much of a clue what is going on at the other end. Lower upper bowl gives you a pretty good view from anywhere. Suites, if you are going with a good amount of people, give great views as well. Does Atlanta have standing room? If it is just you or a few friends, standing room is a ton of fun - but not best for a family. Edited February 27, 2009 by egroen
Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 I'm not sure what it's like in Philips Arena. At the Joe you can be at the top of the rink and you're still not that far from the ice. At the Staples Center, you've got three levels of luxury boxes between you and the lower bowl, so the bottom half of the upper bowl is fine, but otherwise it's nosebleed central. But usually upper bowl is fine. Lower bowl is obviously pricier but a lot of fun. If you're in the endzones, sit 10 rows up if you want to have any perspective on plays at the other end. Don't sit within three rows of the benches if you want to see a thing. Have fun!
Wingsin09 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 You should have no problem getting awesome tickets for this game. 1. being on a Thursday, and 2. it's Atlanta. The longer you can hold off, usually the better price you can get. 10 rows back, center ice is what i would go for. Even if you end up shelling out a little more, it will be worth it for your first Wings game.

I don't believe that atlanta has standing room, Im more than likely going to be lower bowl a couple of sections from the corners, so it should be pretty decent. Thanks so much guys!
