Mike 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2009 Update from the morning skate in St. Louis: Tomas Holmstrom said he is targeting the March 10 game against Phoenix for his return. He hasn't played since Jan. 29 and had surgery for a sports hernia on Feb. 11. Defenseman Jonathan Ericsson, who'll make his season debut for the Wings tonight against the Blues, skated with Brett Lebda, who's back after missing the last eight games with back spasms. But coach Mike Babcock wouldn't reveal whether he'll use that combination in the game. They skated with the same line combinations they used in practice Monday, with the exception of Downey and Ericsson joining the team: Cleary-Zetterberg-Hossa Franzen-Datsyuk-Samuelsson Hudler-Filppula-Kopecky Maltby-Draper-Downey Holmstrom (out) Lidstrom-Rafalski Kronwall-Stuart Ericsson-Lebda Meech and Chelios (out) Lilja (injured, not on trip) Osgood (starting) Conklin For the Blues, it's worth noting goaltender Chris Mason was the NHL's third star for February, posting an 8-2-4 record withg a 1.64 goals-against average and .939 save percentage. He started all 14 games and allowed one goal or fewer eight times, including each of his last five appearances (4-0-1). MLive
