There we have it... the Penalty Kill sponsored by the US Border Patrol managed to fail a few times last game... Therefore some infected mexicans crossed the border and infected the Hot N Ready Pizza the wings were served.

I don't blame anybody.

We went against one of the most physical teams in the NHL. We DOUBLED the amount of hits they were giving us and gave it right back to them. Yes, we were a bit lethargic in the first two periods.. but after that, we dominated in every area. Faceoffs. Hits. Scoring chances. Shots. You name it, we owned it. (Even penalty minutes - for once.) Even with us playing as lethargic as we did the first two periods, our offensive talent made a burst in the last period to tie it up. We then held the Ducks off for TWO full OT periods.. with Hiller and Osgood going head-to-head and, quite literally, standing ON their heads.

It took the ducks three OTs to win. And we're blaming our people 'cause we lost?

I blame me.

I failed to choke back every single piece of my pep Hot n Ready (uurp...) prior to the drop of the puck.

I also washed my "home" jersey TWO days prior to this game, at night, rather than ONE day prior, during the early evening. I may have also added too much fabric softener but I can't remember.

I moved from an upright/sitting position to a reclined/sofa-nap position late in the third period. I did not return to the upright/sitting position during the OTs. Lastly, the remote moved slightly from its 'goal scoring mojo' position to 'Wings take a loss juju' position partway through the first overtime. It remained there for several moments before I noticed the change.

Clearly, if anyone is to blame, it is me.

I'm sorry.

I said before the 3rd overtime. "I know why we haven't won yet, because I have yet to have a beer and that is a sin" then I cracked open a beer and before I could get 1/4 of it down low and behold the game was over......

I blame 3 people...

First, I blame Kronwall for rushing the puck and then turning it over. Secondly, I blame Hossa for not being as defensively gifted having to cover for Kronwall. Thirdly, I blame Datsyuk for having to come back and support the prior two setbacks and the super-lazy flyby he did to Marchant that accomplished nothing.

Result: Goal in 3OT
